Sure it does to an extent. Go look at SJU in first half with no Lowe (lose by 7). Then look at SJU in second half with Lowe (win by 19). Injuries matter —- we need to remember that because Lowe may get hurt again soon and this season is effectively over. We don’t need to run off good coaches because we don’t think in balanced terms. We acknowledge the good and the bad.Thats fine- but that doesn't excuse not scoring for 13 minutes against UNC. Or getting HAMMERED by MSU who beat mighty Oakland today by 9.
Wasn't just the losing- it was how we were losing.
Yes, get more creative when injuries happen. The offense is atrocious without the full squad. Don't lose by 30.Thats fine- but that doesn't excuse not scoring for 13 minutes against UNC. Or getting HAMMERED by MSU who beat mighty Oakland today by 9.

But he is the same coach he recruited a team with a massive budget with no capable backup. That’s an issue too. A year after the same thing happened.Sure it does to an extent. If Lowe gets hurt again — season is over. Won’t argue with anyone who disagrees but if you think “coaching” will fix this offense without Lowe in it —- I really don’t have words for you.
Technically we had another PG but he decommitted. For all we know Pope tried to find another one but couldn’t.But he is the same coach he recruited a team with a massive budget with no capable backup. That’s an issue too. A year after the same thing happened.

You’re arguing a point I’m not making one way or the other. I didn’t talk about whether Pope is responsible or not. I’m saying he won’t be able to coach this team to a level that BBN will be satisfied with without Lowe this season. I’m convinced of it.That's still on the coach. He's responsible for roster construction. And if you lose your QB that you built the offense around, you have to rebuild the offense.
Injuries happen to everyone, not just us. UNC lost one of their key players and adjusted.
That's part of being coach.
Exactly. Look how far out St Johns had to go to defend Lowe. The spacing UK had in that 2nd half abused one of the better defensive teams in America. 53 points. This team struggles to get 53 points in some games.

NO ONE is disagreeing we should have another PG. Maybe Pope thought JJ or Aberdeen could man that role. Maybe he tried to get another one and couldn’t. Regardless we all agree we should have another PG. The horse is dead. Stop beating. But that's the point. You can't just get one PG and go we're good. Especially after what happened last year. You can't paint yourself in the corner and then blame the brush.
If he doesn't go get two PGs next year I'm gonna pull my hair out.
Hi sir, you play an entire season for a reason, otherwise you'd jist play a tournament and call it a day.Thats fine- but that doesn't excuse not scoring for 13 minutes against UNC. Or getting HAMMERED by MSU who beat mighty Oakland today by 9.

What else can I help you with?
Naysayers have had their time. Now isn't that time.Thats fine- but that doesn't excuse not scoring for 13 minutes against UNC. Or getting HAMMERED by MSU who beat mighty Oakland today by 9.

Nah, you'll find fault, even in blowout wins. Nevertheless, we've all heard from your side already. It's somebody else's turn to talk now. You've exposed yourself enough. When did TRUTH become naysaying? There was no excuse for those games.
I'm glad we're healthy. I'm doubly glad the attitudes and effort have gotten better.
Now we need to go 5-1 in our next 6 and I'll be happy with where we are.

The truth is, and I don’t even bother arguing it —- because people won’t hear it:Nah, you'll find fault, even in blowout wins. Nevertheless, we've all heard from your side already. It's somebody else's turn to talk now. You've exposed yourself enough.

Son, I was a fan way before your Al Gore guy created the internet.Yeah, the guy who's been here through good and bad and expects us to be the blue blood we are is the wrong person here. YOU sure as crap don't get to decide who talks on a message board.
Get muted.
The truth is, and I don’t even bother arguing it —- because people won’t hear it:
There is not a single team that will win a national championship without their most important player. Lowe may not be our best player, but he is our most important player. People can crow all they want about roster construction but there is not a single team that will excel without their most important piece. Period.
I agree. I’m not saying we wouldn’t improve over time with coaching decisions (many of which I’ve been critical about) —- but coaching won’t overcome certain injuries. It just won’t — and no, I don’t believe a healthy UK team would lose the way we did in those games. Nor do I think we will ever get to truly be healthy —- sad truth is I don’t see Lowe making it to the finish line given how precarious his situation is. I’m gonna always discuss everything with context —- that’s what I’m about.I don't think anyone is saying that. At all. But there was way more wrong than not having Lowe there for awhile.
Let's look at the UofL FB game. They beat our butts WITH A WALKON.
It's about effort and heart. And there's no arguing that's improved in spades.
Look at what happened when Pope benched BG. He straightened up and is playing MUCH better with effort.
We lost two pg's last year need to sign three next year. All willing to be back ups.But that's the point. You can't just get one PG and go we're good. Especially after what happened last year. You can't paint yourself in the corner and then blame the brush.
