I just

think you are completely missing the point. Koening has nothing to do with this. Hudspeth has nothing to do with this. THAT is the point. It's pretty widely known that Mullen didn't really care for Hudspeth being on the staff. Hell most will tell you that Byrne made him hire Hud. If that is the case, which so many believe (from both sides of the fence), do you honestly believe Hud would have had as much say so as you claim?

Hud leaving is not the reason the offense "went to crap" as it seems some believe.

1 and 3 are definites. But going into last week, the announcers said, as I recall, that we were 2nd nationally in turnovers (or lack thereof), so we've done pretty well in that regard. There's no question that turnovers last week were our downfall ... I think we could have won without them. But ... knowing Dak's situation now (his mother being ill, then dying on Monday), it's easy to understand how his mind might have been elsewhere.

But penalties have got to come down, particularly the needless personal fouls (Nickoe), and we need to play all out to the end of the game.

Some of our woes could be that the opposing team effectively makes adjustments at halftime and can score on us then, but it's obvious that we don't really seem to make any adjustments at all, unless they're negative, going into the third quarter.

Perception of the truth does not equal the whole truth a lot of the time. 2010 was a great year therefore the perception is all of our stats was the best then and everything has declined since. That's true for some not for some others. I just added up in my pervious post about the SEC games and the number of points because of inflation against weak opponents. I knew there would be but 2010 had a larger inflation than any of our subsequent years. The perception is it was better then and declined. That's not the case in reference to points per game.

Agree. I don't know how anyone can't be very concerned with our 2nd half play all season long. We've turned a lot of close games into lopsided losses and lot of comfortable wins into nailbiters. Blame falls on both the coaches and the players. But ultimately, all those coaches and players are Dan Mullens' coaches and players.

The most sickening part is-- IF we sustained first half production for full games, we're one of the elite offenses in the country. Prior to the USCe game, we would have been 5th and 7th nationally in YPG and PPG if we could simply sustain production...
