on ESPN by the announcers. Said he transferred because he didn't like that the tendency at State was towards the individual and not the team. He's going off in the first half. 14 points 6 assists 4-6 on 3's.

and Gordon didn't mind freezing him out of the offense. The practice facility was a small part of his leaving but the fact that there was no team play lead to his leaving. There was a NYT article saying that he didn't like the lack of focus on team play. He's turned out to be a really good player for the Irish.

Ben liked MSU. Hell the only other D1 offer he had was SEMO!. The fact is daddy, Dr H, felt dissed by MSU because he didnt get special treatment...when he went to Tyler's games @ UNC, he was flown on a private jet, picked up at the airport by a limo, &sat courtside. Oh yeah, that would constitute illegal benefits. But of course, UNC, Duke, Gtown, Kentucky, Pitt, Cuse, Texas, etcdoesnt have to cheat. 17em, 17em all.!!

banging Dietric Slater and Phil Cunningham probably had no effect on the transferring, just practice facility and individual play had to be the reasons.

ballers. Wish we still had him, but I don't blame him one bit.
By the way, if we still had him then he would be in his fifth season playing for MSU.

It is truly amazing that someone would actually believe this just because it was posted on a message board. I actually feel sorry for people that are that stupid.

You think Duke or any of the ACC fans would let this happen? Come on. Come the hell on.

Also, if he had an offer to SEMO, then that is 3 since he also had one to SIU. Furthermore, he committed to us in the summer before his senior year. He hadnt even played his senior year and he was off the table. A 2* committed to a major conference program the summer before his senior year and signed in the early period. Think about how rare that is. It is incredibly rare. Those players typically wait until the spring signing period.
Many teams would have been all over him had he waited till the spring, i dont think anyone could disagree with that. Hell, Benock had multiple friggin offers...Hansbrough would have had plenty if he hadnt committed so early.

leave.

If you can find the video, look at BH's reactionas the clock ran out at the endof the game. He was more than frustrated, as were most MSU fans. There was no excuse for that game.

I never understood why Gordon passed the ball so rarely. It seeed like our whole offense was for him to dribble and find a way to create. I like this season more, in some ways. Come to think of it, the way we used JG may be behind a lot of problesm with the Delks and BH.

but how many games could you say that about?

It doesn't really bother me when Rhodes or Kodi call out Stans, but I hate to hear it from someone like Ben or Osby. Both guys seem like good kids and are doing well at their new schools.

Just looking at this season I have to wonder if we lose to Florida Atlantic and ETSU if Wendell is getting Elgin's minutes and Steele or Bryant are getting Twanny's minutes. The AU and LSU losses were terrible too. As bad as this season has been, win those 4 extremely winnable games and we are 19-9, 9-5 in the SEC with a chance at 21-9, 11-5. We would actually have a shot at sliding in as an at-large if the committe gave consideration to us not having Bost and Sidney for such a long stretch.

there is no way we would have had Hansbrough this year if he had stayed. He would have graduated last year. He had to a redshirt a year at Notre Dame.

When in high school, he was exposed to a well coached, hard playing, offensively structured TEAM that his brother played for. Then he goes to college and there's no structure, no practice facility, street ball, and a team full of players who don't listen to a word the coach says(not that he had a lot of great things to say). I don't blame himone bit and I would have done the exact same thing he did and Ihave been a State fan for 27 years. I actually expected him to transfer. It was no surprise that he did, and it was no surprise that he excelled after he left. </p>

Wendellwasn't getting Elgin's minutes. Steele or Bryant weren't getting Twanny's minutes. We didn't win some extremely winnable games. And we're not sliding in as an at-large.

What has Osby said?

I though the left because he basically was not good enough to play in front of Sid, Kodi, Wendell and Elgin.

I had always heard Hansbrough wasn't that "sharp" generally speaking or in a basketball sense. I heard that everyone thought he was because the was the lesser talented, white, mid-western kid but it just wasn't the case.

technically the only standout year the Irish are getting from Ben Hansbrough is this year which happens to be a year AFTER his eligibility would have expired at MSU had he stayed with us. Ben was very much a role player last year at ND. I still really hate he left because he always gave about twice the effort that most of our current players give. And I think, though he did resent Jamont, he left because Daddy insisted that he do so. When he met with Stans right after the season he had every intention of coming back and Jamont was leaving anyway. Once he got back home though that story was quickly changed by Daddy. IMO the practice facility was a minor issue at most.

We have one of the worst coaches on the SEC when it comes to the offensive side of the court. Ben knew that he would never be "the man" in Stans "motion" offense, he saw the writing on the wall and left. I don't blame him a bit, why would you want to play for the recruiter? He does not develop your game and does not have his teams play good basketball. It is always the "one man" show with Stans, be it Mario, LR, J-Money or the RSS.

Good gosh.....State players must get more *** than a toilet seat. The MSU Asstronauts. This rumor or one similar circulates every couple years. Just because you heard it in Starkville doesn't make it true either.

And it's "******" enough to lead the SEC in field goal percentage, which is the single most stat that shows how efficient an offense is. Offensive efficiency isn't really our problem this year, we have attempted less field goals than anyone in the league, due to our lack of rebounding prowess and we're also inconsistent on defense.

Leading the SEC in FG% in conference games leads me to believe one of two things:
1) Stans offensive coaching isn't as bad as its made out to be by the fans on here that don't know anything about basketball offense in the first place
2) Offensive coaching must be overrated and not matter that much

"if we had beaten so-and-so..." (I'm not dogging your comment, I'm merely pointing out the fact that this kind of thing is an every year occurance...)
