I didnt say that. What I said was there was nothing that Williams did in the previos 5 games we played whether exhibition or real season that has demanded he receive more playing time then others. Just look at the box scores for those games and Williams was given several minutes to produce which would have proven he needed more time.

Right, but my point is those games didn’t count. When the lights came on, Williams came alive. We have another big game against Michigan State in a few days. We will soon know if Williams has turned the corner.
The fans have expectations, and that's where you get tripped up. You seem to think we're just supposed to wave pom-pom's and pat players on the butt like they're stil in middle school. It's not about "bashing players", it's about looking out for the program and having high expectations.You don't see how Pope interacts with these players for 90% of the time. You just take Popes demeanor from a 2 hour snippet from games. I almost assure you Pope puts players in their place or you would see alot of off court issues like DUI's, breaking curfew etc. You have no idea how Pope manages his team but 100% certain to run to this board and bash him. This post isn't even necessarily meant just for you. So many supposed UK fans do and bring nothing to this board, program or team other than to show up here and bash the coach, players etc.
To the coach those games count. Absolutely. Same concept as results in practice. The only thing Pope can use to determine playing time is results from practice, exhibition games and regular season games so you cant fault Pope for his playing time so far. To your point that it is early and we will see soon whether he has turned the corner I agree and that is the case for every player on the team. I hope he continues to grow and perform which should result in his playing time going up but I also hope that for all our players.

By the way, your comments about bashing players and coaches is off base. Now that these players are professionals, they’re open game for criticism. That’s just how it works.
Some of the people want to show up on a message board and every post is singing kumbaya. What’s the fun in that? If we weren’t all arguing and fighting over trivial crap, it wouldn’t be a fun place to be. I think of message boards as the equivalent of walking into a bar. Sometimes you share a drink with your mate and sometimes a melee keeps things interesting. This isn’t a safe space for the only one correct opinion.

Thats funny. These guys are just human and the players who produce most nights should not start just because they had an off night. Play your most consistent players period. Pope cant see the future to determine every outcome. Neither can you. But you are really good at being an armchair quarterback and complaing. Hey maybe when Pope is no longer UK's coach you could put in for the job and do better. I am sure not one person could find something to complain about. NOT

No man, anyone can comment on the team, say anything they want, but when you say something thats unfair its gonna get called out.
It is definitely not unfair to say a coach or staff should realize in game when a player isnt emotionally responding as needed. There is absolutely zero way film is the first time anyone should notice.
That might be inconvenient, but it certainly isnt unfair.
