I agree with the thinking the SEC should stand pat if the Pac 10 expands to Pac 16 with Colorado (done) and the Texas Schools (minus Baylor).

However, Iread thatthe Pac 10 might seek TWO automatic bids from the BCS for its "Super Conference" If that flies, the SEC need to gobble up four ACC teams mighty quick.

They will only have 4 more teams than us, I just don't think that qualifies for an extra BCS Bid. I think if they did go to 16 and dismantled the big-12, that the Mountain West should get the Big 12 auto bid.

The goal behind superconferences is, ironically, post season playoffs among other things. Super conferences would hold their own inner-conference playoffs. If the NCAA disagrees, blow me (says the conference commish). The significance of this is the enormous money it generates which would of course all be guaranteed to the conference. The winner may or may not play other conference winners for a real national championship, but who gives a ****.

The point is to have as many conference games on as many TV sets as possible, with all that money staying in-conference- and that's all that matters. Don't lose sight of that.
