it will go by Rebel Grove which was the name of the Rivals site. This is what Genespage should do in my opinion. Rename the site to something State centric.

Sincerely,
SixPackSpeak <- Not State centric

After Neal and Ben almost came to blows a few weeks ago, I'm excited to watch their version of Board Wars.

details?

Are yancey and chuck still around?
Didn’t Yancy get the boot when he made up a quote from one kid and the kid openly refuted it on Twitter, then posted the DMs Yancy sent him asking him to take his Twitter post down? I think that’s how The Spirit ended up on On3. They were replaced on their old platform with “Inside the Rebels”, which is still such an unintentionally funny name.

I was thinking that was why they went to On3 to keep yancey. But i could be completely wrong about that.

Wonder what that guy is doing now.

ETA: Looks like you are correct. He left 247 in nov of 2021 and is now a publisher at Best Version Media.

Yes, Yancy flat out made up a quote from a recruit from Utah. Get a load of the quote he made up without ever actually speaking to the recruit. It is exactly the type of made up quote you'd expect from an Ole Miss beat writer.

"It blew me away, honestly. I loved everything about my trip down there. It was my first trip to Mississippi. I have never met so many nice people in my life. Their offense is (tailor) made for a quarterback. They have two of the best offensive minds in college football.”

Only problem was that Porter had never even spoken with the recruit, Devin Brown. Brown called him out on it publicly, and Shannon Terry (head of On3) said Yancy couldn't work there anymore.

I don't think they were with On3 at the time Yancy did that. They were with 247 and they moved to On3 because of what happened.

***The real question is where does Chuck fit into the 3-some***

Correct. After it happened, 247 dropped The Spirit and they went from 247 to On3, but they weren’t allowed to bring Yancy along.

The reason is about as stupid as you’d expect from two message board mods (apologies to Paul and Robbie).

Ben tried recruit an advertiser from Neal’s podcast. Advertiser told Neal. So in turn, Neal contacted a number advertisers from Ben’s podcast, touting his show’s downloads, etc., compared to Ben. Ben found out.

Next time they saw each other, a parking lot exchange between two hotheads quickly escalated. Screaming match ensued and sounds like Ben had to be restrained. 17ing nerds….

UPDATE: Here are screenshots with more details on the fight.

Is there an Ole Miss internet personality that is not a complete head case? You would think covering SEC sports for a living and living in a college town would be a low stress career, but not for Ben Garrett. He is too emotional and should probably go be an accountant or maybe a mail man…

Relying on that one side of the story, it sounds like Ben had a mental breakdown of some kind.
