This is the funniest part to me: "...but fans will get a look at the throwback uniforms designed for the men’s basketball team that pays tribute to the 1987 team that went on to win the National Invitation Tournament."

they just need to quit mentioning that 1987 team and just let the banner talk about it.

But big drop from nike to russell so it better have been a much better financial contract for the Athletic dept.

Google Images on a Russell Athletics search shows finds teams like VCU, Colorado State, Akron, Clark Atlantic and Chula Vista. Apparently they have a cool new face guard they are hoping will turn things around for them.

I'm sure all Nike did with USM was compare their sales numbers to Ole Miss'. Russell gets into the MS market as an exclusive apparel provider. Win for both parties in my opinion.

ETA: Russell's parent company's assets dwarf that of Nike.

I think this is only for football. I know their baseball team uses Under Armour. Not sure what basketball uses. Sort of like we used to do. Every school needs to be under one company, otherwise it is a big cluster17.

I want to say when we signed with Russell - I remember a number being thrown around like $500K. It was basically a signing bonus for us to use Russell.
