To me, the big news isn't that Jones might have been improperly recruited by Ole Miss (heck, we've all suspected it). The big news is that the NCAA is actually responding to something.

How long before tunsil, RK, and treadwell have similar stories? OM better not be so blatant this year...

They should have left Laremy Tunsil alone.

They pissed off the wrong guy who now works for the NCAA.

Is it even a violation to take impermissible benefits from a school that you didn't actually sign with? I'm sure it is on some level...

^^^ this times 1000. Tunsil is what this whole thing is about.

Agreed...

And the fact that they are chasing ALL loose ends with multiple players and trying to round up supplemental evidence says that the situation could easily get serious...before even tackling Tunsil directly.

IF they find anything in more than 1 or 2 of these cases, Lack of Institutional Control becomes a real possibility...

If we hear of them questioning Elijah Daniel as well, it can be pretty safely assumed that they are dead-to-rights...

Maybe Mullen truly just got sick of the sh*t and launched a witch-hunt? I hope that's true, anyways.

Ill give u this...ur a dedicated troll. A complete *** hat, but a dedicated one.
But Jack, we must keep quiet! If our fans talk about it we'll get in even more trouble!

Come on C, MSU is always on double secret probation. We're the mutt that the NCAA comes home and kicks after a bad day at the office.

Hell no. We don't want anything to do with this (and I doubt we have much, if anything, to do with it). The NCAA is not interested in policing recruiting, but they are also not interested in podunk schools starting bidding wars (or at least schools the NCAA listens to are not interested in bidding wars). I would still guess that nothing comes from this, and it's just a shot across the bow for UM to know their place. But either way, nothing good comes from MSU being involved with this. We already embarassed the NCAA by forcing them to publicly stick their head in the sand to allow Cam to keep playing. We need to keep our head down and let other schools that are pissed at UM push this.

After a cursory review of your14 posts ...

It's best for our fans to keep quiet. Aren't we the program on probation?

I think it is time to come out of the closet. You suck as a 'pretend' State fan. Seriously dude, get another hobby.</SPAN>

If the Tunsil recruitment cause the issue, why are they interviewing Jones?

I did not see the word Tunsil anywhere in that article. Your guys are trying to snitch on everyone, but not even smart enough to realize you are about to get your own balls in a sling. You better hope Jones has his story down to a tee.

WTF did i spin?

You guys are taking one thing and jumping to another. While the NCAA is talking to Jones, you are screaming Tunsil at the top of your lungs. The spin is that you are trying to spin this into a great OM witch hunt. It may turn into that, but right now, all we have is that the NCAA keep talking to recruits that were b/t OM and State. The spin is that you guys are trying to deflect the attention of your poor recruiting and place the blame on OM's cheating.

I have a former attorney friend who was doing quite well. Then he went to work with some of the big boys. The big boys firms (including him) go caught doing some things that they shouldn't. He tried to exert his influence and power to no avail. It wasn't nearly enough to help him. He did time in the federal pen and got disbarred while the real big boys never sniffed an indictment. Their firms continue to print money (albeit in a slower fashion since tort reform).
MSU and Ole Miss are not the big boys. This likely won't end well for one or both of us. I have no inside scoop or knowledge, just old and cynical and don't like how it smells...

You're not very bright.

The NCAA isn't interviewing Jones because MSU turned OM in. The NCAA is interviewing Jones because he was a highly-rated recruiting prospect, and the NCAA will be interviewing all of these types of players that Ole Miss recruited...the ones they signed, and the ones they didn't sign. They will look for consistencies and inconsistencies. This is why you need to wait for the Elijah Daniel interview. That will prove without a doubt that this is about Ole Miss recruiting, and MSU had nothing to do with the investigation.

All Jones has to do here is tell the truth. You'd better hope that he and others don't.

And yes, it's the recruitment of Tunsil that is causing all of this. You guys pissed off the wrong group of people and Michael Adams is going to dig until he finds something.

What poor recruiting? -- Oh, I forgot -- OM and MSU should recruit in the top 10-15 yearly now**

Also, why don't you go get your "whole story" and come back to us. We are discussing a bigger picture that clearly we've seen coming for a LONG time now -- while being ridiculed nonstop from your side. Sure does look like our day of reckoning is on the horizon doesn't it? Difference between us and you is that we have managed to keep our stuff small-scale without making waves with the powers that be. You fools saw blood in the water last year and attacked with total reckless abandon.

Ole Miss -- who had actually recruited worse than us overall since Mullen got here prior to last year -- and within 5 spots of us overall since the beginning of the recruiting rankings -- puts together the best class by a non-traditional power since the SMU days -- and you didn't think it was going to raise 14 kinds of questions(On kids that specifics of how/how much you BRAZENLY cheated on are READILY available)? The only way you ever were going to pull this off was if the NCAA never investigated -- and you did everything in your power as an institution to prevent it.

Even if you end up with only a slap on the wrist, this is good for MSU -- in that we know you cheated and if you skate, the calls for change in our dinosaur compliance dept will become deafening.

Nailed it...

Did we just turn in CJ Johnson 2 weeks ago in his 3rd year at Ole Miss? Doesn't make much sense does it. Or did they ignore it when WE turned him in before -- until a big fish made them take a closer look at everything they have on OM? What's happened so far is just the tip of the iceberg from an interview perspective...

What's even more hilarious is that these "insiders" apparently from more schools than just MSU are sharing info with the ED crew, who then post it all over a message board for anyone to see. Anyone who thinks that's the way the "insiders" work is just an idiot

Just quit. Why are you trying to twist this into a terminology debate over what an "insider" is? Last I checked, I haven't seen a single source that got exposed outside of the guys that are paid to be "sources". There's PLENTY more going on behind the scenes that is not being said. If you can't see the writing on the wall with that -- given how brazen our normally timid fanbase is right now, I really don't know what to tell you...

We haven't NAILED your entire negative summer -- which you denied, denied, denied -- and are now spin, spin, spin. Obviously, it's just those crazy MSU fans on ED making this stuff up**

It's kind of like when the random NASCAR thread pops up here. I don't read it because I don't care. In other words, if you didn't care or believe any of this why seek it out on you opponent's message board?

Look maybe you misunderstand me. Why would I believe you know more than the folks I trust on our side of the table? I just told you not to get too excited. Our guys know exactly whats going on. CJ's not in rehab. Kailo hasn't left unexcused. And the MSU fan owner of the furniture store in Philly told the NCAA that he knew nothing. Damn, you really expect this board to jump on this bandwagon? Like I said, there are some secondary violations we believe, but nothing more. How exactly have you NAILED it? Sounds like to me you're 0 for 3, so far

Yeah -- except those 3 things are still involved in the OM "spin" stage and have thusly not been proven as anything. Yet. Love how you want to close a book on these things before it's even opened fully -- and you don't think "trying to put out fires" qualifies as "spin"? OK.

What recent history has proven is that it takes awhile for this stuff to make it out of your spin cycle and come out as the truth. At which point, you are too busy spinning other things to revisit and admit being WRONG about in the first place.

We said Brunetti got arrested and Brassell was involved over dope. You called ********. We were right.
We said Henderson was in trouble. You called ********. We were right.
We said Tobias left the team. You called ******** when he came back. We were right.
We said Jones gave us a bunch of stuff on Ole Miss. You called ********. We were right.
We said you paid CJ. You called ********. Why is the NCAA there investigating in the first place?

We say this is going to be a WIDE investigation over MANY players 3 of which will come out in another Fowler article in the next few days -- and any talk of "a few secondary penalties" is CRAZY premature. You say there's nothing to see here -- just "maybe a few secondary violations" which basically amounts to a kid getting his breakfast paid for. Care to wager on who is right? Yeah, I didn't think so...

You mean if a program 90 miles away in the same cheats their *** off it makes another university have less success recruiting? Get tha 17 outta here!

Hey. Didnt see anything about Jones in the CJ article either did we?

Boy it's sure fun watching you clowns squirm. It was all great last year wasn't it? After all a UM had noooo influence in Devinner even though he waddled around in UM garb and was on campus at UM right after claiming so much **** about MSU. Noooo that's right and just. But anything in return is sour grapes right? You 17ers never cease to amaze me.

Now I wanna know where all of you UM fans are that kept up the whole "we'll we aren't the ones being investigated are we" mantra going last fall?

RN, both LT's and several others have already been interviewed by the NCAA. The NCAA has been on campus several times since signing day so don't get your hopes up.
