Getting rid of the black nationalist mayor was step one to freeing up the state to get serious about helping Jackson. MDA was involved with this happening but it didn’t get serious until current mayor was defeated in primary.

You typed that with a straight face…

At least MDA wasn’t so blatant to recruit Montgomery Gentry first… **

(RIP, Troy Gentry)

What’s next? A Road House bar? **

(don’t get me wrong, I like Jackson, but this appears weird to me…)

Biggest surprise to me is Randy Travis is still alive. Seriously, I thought we was dead. But so many questions about this project. Why? A travel center on a beltway interstate in a terrible part of town? And how much are you going to be able to do with that property in 120 days?

This reminds me of the Beef Plant boondoggle from about 20 years ago.

If that part of Jackson ever comes under the control of the Capital Police, it might have a chance to bring in consumers. I don't know where the cut off is going to be when the transition to Capital Police is complete.

MIGHT work during the rodeo. Hard to sell western gear to the few parents trekking to Clinton for travel baseball.

but hey I’ll be positive

I'm usually a glass half-full type of guy, but this one is pretty strange... I'm afraid someone is taking advantage of ol Randy while he perhaps is less than 100%, cognitively-speaking. The man looks half dead in the pics.

One would hope his wife ("business partner", or whatever she is) is looking out for his best interests in his waning years, but this decision has to give pause. Poor guy. Surely there are better places to invest $35 mil. Hell, you could throw a dart and pick out 5 or 6 better spots for a travel center just in the south/west Jackson metro if he really wanted to go down there. That mall isn't very visible or easily accessible from I-20, and barely from 220. Very strange.
