The post rivals integration is complete regression to the mean. The content on every thread is now a combination of instagram reals and facebook posts. The meaningful content about wrestling is now the minority of all posts. So disappointing.
Thats all this place has ever been. Take a look back to before it happened almost all posts were from a social media platform of some sort almost no banter.

Your complaint is off base.

Unlike my approach on the Iowa forums in the past, I feel like just a guest on this new board and try not to post so much. It's just feels different than what I was used to with the old board. Through time, the off topic stuff there made me feel as if I knew everyone personally. I liked that...
The way this offseason played out made the entire thing strange. I have posted some, but because of all the **** I have limited my posts. When the season starts things I believe will seek out something approaching normalcy.
We could start by instead of just sitting in a barber's chair you could be cutting the Bassett's grass and at least offering snow removal services.

Dude with 150 posts in 4 years chides the board for being not to his liking.

Appreciate you looking up my stats. That's sweet of you.
I elaborate a bit more on my initial post for some additional context.
I used to be on the rivals board. The vast majority of the posts were complete drivel, in-season or out of season. I left that board because this one existed and in comparison, this board had substance to the posts. The quality of all the threads was much, much higher here. This is my reference of "regression to the mean". This forum has regressed to the average meaningless non-wrestling posts of the rivals board. I seriously doubt this will change when October arrives.
Would I be more worthy in your opinion if I made 1500 or 15000 posts that were 95% facebook types posts - hey everyone, I just took a **** and it was x" long. Followed by a reply from 3 other people commenting how they can't squeeze one out, 2 others who had a bigger ****, and 5 more who **** un-formed pile.
No thanks.
In the meanwhile, to use a TV analogy, I can choose to tune to a different channel or turn off the TV entirely. That may happen. Doesn't change the fact that there is a huge increase in the number of threads that are just noise and I would prefer that people post all that stuff in facebook, X, instagram, etc instead of here.

Your volume of posts is irrelevant except it belies your ego, that you think a message board should conform to your idea of what its identity should be.

Fall in love, fall in line, or fall out, your choice, but don't whine about it.

I get what you're saying. However the off topic posts and discussions are always gonna happen no matter what. I'm hoping that with the merging of the 2 forums the mods will notice the higher volume of Off Topic posts and move them to their own dedicated "Off Topic" thread or a more relevant thread so that they can be discussed separately without interrupting the content of the original thread. There were several users on Rivals whose only contributions were Off Topic posts.

On a side note, it appeared that approximately 83% of the Rivals board was obsessed with Iowa, as many threads would start to turn into an Iowa comparison or discussion. Those posts were quickly moved to the dedicated annual Iowa thread for obvious reasons. Some of the largest threads in Rivals history ended up being the Iowa dedicated threads.

You could have saved a lot of typing and just written, "I'm one of those guys with no sense of humor." Short and to the point.

Instead, you added to the drivel you complained about.

I was going to post the other day that Gabe should come to PSU for a year to get his head straight and rediscover his love of wrestling. Oh well. Another year of burnout instead.
You mean another year of risking a career ending injury.

With the huge fast weight gain and the weird mood swings I'm guessing Iowa fans will be all over this guy accusing him of roid use. It does make a guy wonder. He was wrestling 184 while weighing 174 according to that board, but somehow put on 37 lbs. in 4 months? Where is ironturd to break the story?

Yea, while they're busy pointing fingers, their lineup has some interesting body types.

Arnold at 5'7 184 was extreme, but now he is over 200 lbs? That's professional bodybuilder dimensions.

Their potential 157 is a shorter version of Arnold that is even more freakishly jacked. In his case it's fairly obvious what going on.

Then there is Kennedy who was a career 165 that is now having his best success after being forced up to 174. I personally would like to give him the credit for working hard but according to the way they view things any guy that moves up and has success is on steroids.

If you look at the last few years, most Iowa wrestlers have not achieved much success, at least to the level that is normally expected from them. However, I don't recall any cheap shots in social media coming directly from Iowa wrestlers. Any talk of roids or other illegal performance enhancement methods is coming from the Iowa fans, not the team.

Allegedly PSU is working with a 15 million a year budget so the playing field is still not even according to Bob.
