This could be bad for us. He lined up and ran straight every play which is not how you win football games anymore unless you have an elite OL. Hopefully they don't bring in an OC that throws seamers every play.

It could be good for us, we made him look like Bill Walsh.

99% of Iowa fans are really happy about this. Granted this year we lost our #1 WR and Beathard was hurt most of the year; the passing game was very lackluster. I am not expecting them to put up 50 pts a game but think they ranked in the 100s this year on offense and that is unacceptable.

Iowa fans have wanted him gone for a few years now. (Well not last year of course) Many are very excited. I also think BF will be the guy then he wil take over for daddy later in.

Here is my question for Iowa fans....Kirkd downside has been his loyatly to coaches. If the school hires Brian as OC (Kirk cant hire him as they have an anti nepotism policy) and Brian is not doing well running the offesne after a few years, do you think Kirk will get rid of his son? Hiring BF could he disaster for Iowa.

As a HC, hiring your son/brother/father to be on your coaching staff seems like such a bad idea. Where have I seen that before?

If you're going by results only, Carl was a great hire.... Off the field is a different story.

Nice call. I wonder what Iowa fans think of this choice?

NFL pedigree with the Patriots. Coached the O-line this year and the team wins the Joe Moore Award for the best O-Line in college football. He is also the run game coordinator and 2 backs both rush for 1000 yards. Iowa fan is very happy.

That doesn't translate into being a better passing team in the immediate future.

The running game will look exactly the same. It's looked exactly the same since 1999. The passing game will be similar to what New England does and what Bill O'Brien did at Penn St because that's what he knows.

So I guess we should all pencil Iowa into the National Championship game.
