So, punt year? What everybody fails to appreciate is that Penn State's projected '27-28 starting lineup will all be taking Olympic redshirts that year.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that the days of TnT are numbered.
He might just have one TF coming this year. Just the kind he doesn't like. ;-)I'm going to assume this is the way lockett wrestles since he's like 13-1 with only 1 fall, 0 TF and 1 MD.
He has yet to play a down in football, even when he was healthy his redshirt year. And football is very generous in letting redshirt play.Unless he's injured, and I suspect he is..
Or:
"Hey coach, I'm not going to make the NCAA finals or the Olympics. I'm going back to football.

Just because you qualify for an Olympic shirt doesn't mean you have to take it.What everybody fails to appreciate is that Penn State's projected '27-28 starting lineup will all be taking Olympic redshirts that year.
Did Gabe spend a weekend at Camp Crystal Lake that I don’t know about?I don't need 4 paragraphs of rules explaining to know that was a ******** stall call on Gabe. Strangely I have become a fan of him through this hell on earth BS he has endured.
If i was going to put forth the effort of praying and hoping, I am just asking that Gabe beats out Ferrari for the spot.I don't need 4 paragraphs of rules explaining to know that was a ******** stall call on Gabe. Strangely I have become a fan of him through this hell on earth BS he has endured. I hope and pray that Angelo can't go and Gabe finishes on the podium in Cleveland with medal around his neck.
Embarrassing for Iowa. High chance worse next year.285- Konnor Doucet vs. Gage Marty
Period 1:
Keuter gets the night off & Marty steps in to take his place. Marty works the tie-up & push strategy to start the match. Doucet gets a TD, 3-0, then looks for back points. He gets a couple exposures, but can't hold Marty long enough for points. Doucet rides out the period. 3-0.
Period 2:
Doucet takes down & quickly gets an escape, 4-0. Doucet pressures forward & picks up another TD on the edge, 7-0. Marty gets an escape, 7-1. Doucet presses forward. Marty gets a 2nd stall warning & Doucet gets another point, 8-1. Doucet presses forward again & picks up another TD, just before the period ends, 11-1.
Period 3:
Marty takes down & gets the escape, 11-2. Doucet presses forward & adds another TD, 14-2. Doucet works a Navy ride. He hits a tilt & then gets the fall.
Konnor Doucet FALL Gage Marty (5:53)
Final Team Score:
OKST: 32
IOWA: 11
I personally think if Ferrari, Endeme, and normal Keuter were wrestling Iowa would have won that march 20-18 estimate. But something is very off at Iowa.Really stupid was letting Real Estate Bob become the leader of the program in exchange for a couple of bucks.
Oklahoma State is the closest thing we've seen to Penn State in the last 15 years. It helped that Okie State hired PSU great David Taylor as their new HC. Taylor had a prior relationship with Forrest as a highschooler via his training gym at the time in PA.
The current Keuter is the now normal Keuter. Ferrari may have won, but it probably woukd have been SV and Endeme isn't there because of Bob.Embarrassing for Iowa. High chance worse next year.

Oh no… are we starting this theory already? lolWhat everybody fails to appreciate is that Penn State's projected '27-28 starting lineup will all be taking Olympic redshirts that year.
Oh no… are we starting this theory already? lol
Shocking that Burroughs would lose objectivity last night and declare that OklaSt can win it all in March. Really?Oklahoma st 7-3 on paper we will see who shows up to wrestle
Just because you qualify for an Olympic shirt doesn't mean you have to take it.
There might be one or two as you suggested, but I would bet the schedule will be arranged to give the guys what they need as far as dates to wrestle around and rest. The kids who compete will maintain their competitive and conditioning edge. The shirts used to be more of a necessity because of the brutality of the season. Iowa kids need the break, PSU and Oklahoma State train differently and probably benefit from not taking the break.Seems like one or two PSU guys have taken Olympic shirts during that cycle. Admittedly, I would presume a larger percentage of the PSU roster will likely qualify for one in 2028, but my guess is that PSU still fields a quality team and many/most will forego those Olympic redshirts.

Who all qualifies for ORS? Luke, Blaze, Ono, Duke, Henckle, Rocco, Barr, both Mirasolas. Am I missing anyone?Oh no… are we starting this theory already? lol
Not yet Ohio State 2015-2019.Oklahoma State is the closest thing we've seen to Penn State in the last 15 years.
Quite a few key cowboys can take one as wellJust because you qualify for an Olympic shirt doesn't mean you have to take it.
James, Sealey, Kasak? And probably SidunWho all qualifies for ORS? Luke, Blaze, Ono, Duke, Henckle, Rocco, Barr, both Mirasolas. Am I missing anyone?
Penn St wins by 50 or more. Appreciate you putting me on the floorShocking that Burroughs would lose objectivity last night and declare that OklaSt can win it all in March. Really?
Jax was the only wrestler I saw that would not be a surprise to win a championship. Vega is not beating Mendez, but could finish 2nd or 3rd. He wasn’t very impressive the first two periods against Iowa’s backup. As for the other eight wrestlers, who else impressed? Maybe Burroughs should reacquaint himself with PSU’s lineup again.
For the natty’s, maybe ESPN could have Tim Johnson do play by play, Burroughs and Rader be analysts, and Corby on the floor for interviews.
Tom has never really cared about allocations. If you can't place top 8-9 in the big 10 you probably aren't gonna place at the NCAAs. They're not gonna run around the country to opens to allocate a spotIowa WTF?
Any Guesses on who Iowa submits for the 3rd Coaches rankings?
125 Peterson 10-4 no RPI
133 Ayala 9-7
141 ?? Bailey 10-5 or Petersen 10-4
149 Block 10-6
157 ?? Williams 7-7 no RPI and <.70 winning or Voinovich 8-4 no RPI
165 Caliendo 15-3
174 Kennedy 15-2
184 Ferrari 9-1 no RPI (no matches in last 30) or Arnold 8-3 (at 184) no RPI
197 ?? Arnold 2-0 no RPI
285 Keuter 5-5 no RPI <.70
Talk about limping into the post season...
David’s not a *****, unlike all the portal boys in CFB. He won’t leave OSU for Iowa. I’ve got my money on Pat Pop moving west. His kids would follow him, but Iowa doesn't have enough money to make it happen. DT's got a good thing going where he is, and he has a bit of real cowboy in him.
It will be an interesting off season in Iowa. JB, Dake, Nolf, and Spencer will all be discussed all over HR.
You can add VT to your list of teams getting stronger in the future. Not a pretty picture for Iowa's future. Definitely going to struggle to get in the top 5 going forward.I don't know how much the slumlord spent on Peterson, Bailey, Williams, and Endene, but I'm guessing it will be over $30,000 per NCAA point.
He was right, though, about a level playing field. Iowa is leveling off, while ISU, Nebraska, and the OSUs are leveling up.
The Soldier Salute was in Iowa... why give up on better seeding at Nationals?Tom has never really cared about allocations. If you can't place top 8-9 in the big 10 you probably aren't gonna place at the NCAAs. They're not gonna run around the country to opens to allocate a spot
Bob said they would pass us so quickly after the playing field had been leveled that the dust would settle by the time we got to where they had just been.I don't know how much the slumlord spent on Peterson, Bailey, Williams, and Endene, but I'm guessing it will be over $30,000 per NCAA point.

No interviews immediately after matches!Penn St wins by 50 or more. Appreciate you putting me on the floor.
Whole lotta potential overlap there. We'll see.Speculation about finalist 2 years out is folly, however in an Oly year OSU has at least 7 top 4 guys in the pipeline right now, and I am sure I am missing some.
Jax, Vega, Robideau, Ross, Rainey twins, Lockett
It's hard to argue the battle won't be pretty close by then.
That plus: how many of those guys are really not gonna qualify anyway?Tom has never really cared about allocations. If you can't place top 8-9 in the big 10 you probably aren't gonna place at the NCAAs. They're not gonna run around the country to opens to allocate a spot
Pop is an awfully good coach, but you think he's a big enough splash for them? I'm not seeing it from their side.David’s not a *****, unlike all the portal boys in CFB. He won’t leave OSU for Iowa. I’ve got my money on Pat Pop moving west.
Bob has proven to be a God send to those of us who relish the make fun of Iowa moments. He has to make Dan Gable churn up all kinds of gastric bile.Bob said they would pass us so quickly after the playing field had been leveled that the dust would settle by the time we got to where they had just been.
