I personally didn't say they'd be a favorite, I said that's a year they have a shot. You can name our guys all you want and they will be amazing as always. But getting Forrest, vega, both raneys, robideaux, lockett,Ross and others makes Ok state the first team in half a decade I think could make it interesting...You and a few others gotta stop this crap of " ohhh you cant ever talk about a future where another team challenges Penn State".
I have no problem acknowledging there is going to come a time. The idea it might happen in the year we have 7 guys who are probable finalists and the 3 other spots will be filled with (149) Davis, Desmond or someone better, 174 Henckel or James and 184 Cunningham, Connor Mirasola or James just seems like a silly conversation. That is a team scoring 180 to 200 points or more. Oklahoma St in 10 years, may just step up and claim king of the hill. Assuming Cael, Casey and Cody are still in Happy Valley and there hasn't been some sort of catastrophic talent loss that change just isn't happening in 2028. If Oklahoma State has a performance that is historically great at an Oklahoma State level they will still be 50 points behind in second place.

My response has nothing to do with being angry over the idea that someone might actually be better than Penn State again in the future. It has to do with the frustration of reading it so often and the complete level of silliness and lack of knowledge on the subject that it requires to arrive at that conclusion.
It is as frustrating as reading over and over and over that we need to get a transfer for heavyweight or that Luke will be lucky to escape the Ohio State match without getting pinned.

All I see so far from Oklahoma State is a young guy building his program into a strong team and if he sticks with it he will eventually win a couple team titles. I also see a response from a guy who is already a great coach seeming to understand the threat from the challenger who has responded with a snort and grunt of determined "not anytime some my one time friend!"

So it's uneducated or otherwise unknowledgeable to think 2028 will be at least competitive? Really? Fine. Not the type to die on a hill on a message board BUT I disagree. I think you're being arrogant in this response. You can disagree but coming to say I'm being silly or unknowledgeable? Ya that dog don't hunt. I'm not wrestling genius but I feel like since I've joined the bored I've shown myself to be not a moron and one of the more rational and level headed posters. To each their own. I welcome 2028 arriving and me eating crow. That'd be amazing, honestly.

Are you guys blind or just have happy valley glasses Okie State can beat us and will be closer following 5 yrs
Just in reference to this year…can? Well yeah, they “can”. It’s always a probability/likelihood matter leading up to an event in a predictive sense. And the odds of that happening are highly unlikely barring a string of disasters like missing weight, injuries, disqualification, etc. Penn State has enormous room for error, and I would say three or four of the top five guys likely to score the most individual points. Especially in a double elim format, as we saw on Saturday morning last year.

I’m really excited to see a good team race in the future, but I don’t think this year will have that yet. Unless we’re talking about 2nd place. But you never know!

Facundo always been a better freestyle wrestler. It's strange....he just looks completely different. Made world teams and beat Levi not that long ago.
He beat him 2 years ago, I am betting he doesn't come very close to beating the World Silver medalist any time in the future.
Of course Levi is a favorite.

I had no problem with the stall call. I do have a problem with the idea that reaction time is apparently 8 to 12 seconds.
The stall call in the Arnold match was only issued at that time (IMHO for the ref to show how good of ref he is). Earlier matches, with far worse stalling by both Iowa and OSU wrestlers - the whistle remained silent. Completely inconsistent. So, while technically not a horrid cll in isolation, it was horrid the way the match had been called

I don't read you as a moron. I typically appreciate your posts. I used your post as a vehicle for my response. But yes, I do find the continued 2028 responses as I described them. Silly and all that other stuff I wrote.

Feel free to blast me for one of my dumb posts. I make them frequently enough and I might snort back at you, but it won't change my appreciation for waay more than 83% of your posts.

You know what would be funny? If Iowa opens up the job and Taylor jumps.
His kids would follow him, but Iowa doesn't have enough money to make it happen. DT's got a good thing going where he is, and he has a bit of real cowboy in him.

It will be an interesting off season in Iowa. JB, Dake, Nolf, and Spencer will all be discussed all over HR.

That Caliendo and Lockett ended up with the same amount of stalls is so lol.
Could have been 3 more on Lockett.
This illustrates one of the differences between Caliendo and Mesenbrink. If Lockett does that against Mesenbrink where he casually walks to the edge with his back turned, Mitchell will be back on top of him before he knows what hit him.
