Current gas prices are not necessarily set by futures prices. Futures prices can fluctuate widely from day to day. Prices at the pump tend to be much more stabile. Yes futures influence cash prices but is that actually supply driven or is that expectations for future supply. IMO the short term fear caused by the Iran conflict will abate in a matter of weeks. That said, pump prices are still WAY below what they were during Biden’s term
