24/7 is reporting he may wait till after NSD to sign. I guess he's going to see what shakes out.

Yea, if things go well for us tomorrow...

then I doubt we will have room. Likely boils down to what the Alexanders do. Also, I guess we will hold a spot for Toby Johnson if he still plans to come on an OV. Would be nice to get one DT in the class.

That's what I figured. I was thinking it may come down to how much room we have for another db depending on the Alexanders. If that's the case, then that's not a bad backup plan at all to me. He looks like a pretty good player.

Can someone explain to me why everyone is so high on this guy?

I honestly don't know. I was under the impression we've added DB's higher on our board, but everyone seems to really really really want this guy, even though we have 4 star guys (freshmen!) on our roster right now and higher rated guys signing with us tomorrow.

Could be the thought of potentially landing his younger brother
If that's the case, I want him. But only if there's only 24 signees tomorrow. Toby would be great but I don't know if I'd be willing to wait a week for him to say he's going to Auburn.

You need to get up-to-date on your Toby Johnson information...

We are definitely holding a spot for him. He doesn't have a committable offer from Auburn(getting Montravius Adams) -- GA pulled his offer based on grade concerns(much harder to get into UGA than MSU)...

are people concerned about his injury? other issues (grades maybe)? Just seems odd that such a highly rated JUCO guy is having trouble getting a firm offer here at the very end.

Georgia and Auburn aren't in the business of taking JUCOs that aren't going to be immediate impact guys. They are concerned about his injury and how it effects him going forward. We can obviously take greater risks in this area for elite talent. Grades are also pretty questionable for him -- but given the injury, we can probably afford to take him even if he doesn't fully qualify until July or August. It's going to be asking ALOT to have him 100% by the fall given his knee injury, though he does have a redshirt year that could potentially be used if it comes down to it...

We also have his mom and much of his family in Moorhead recruiting him for MSU as well -- so that helps us with him. Seems a bunch of others are trying to come back into the picture now that Georgia is out though...

I'm not a fan of redshirting a JUCO. According to Auburn's beatwriter he doesn't think he will anyway.

We lost Boyd, Jones, and Cherrington. Is that correct? If he can play on day 1 I'll be ok with signing him. I don't know how I feel about holding a spot post-signing day for him though.

I think Toby's situation is a little different on the red-shirt considering that he's still recovering from his injury. If he's not ready to play injury-wise, in the opener... I think sitting him is a good idea.

Just think of the 2014 D-Line - Chris Jones, Quay Evans, Nick James, Toby Johnson, Preston Smith, John Harris, Jordan Washington, Torrey Dale, Ryan Brown, AJ Jefferson, PJ Jones, Nelson Adams.... Loaded from front to back.

My redshirting quote was based on his health. No doubt he plays day 1 if he's ready to go. We lost 3 seniors, but we gain 4 rsFR in the 2012 class -- 2 of which will be definite contributors IMO(Dale and Jefferson).

He was the #1 overall prospect in JUCO across all sites prior to his grade problems and injury. Yes, if you are MSU, you save a spot for him WHENEVER he wants to sign if you can get him. You don't pass on a guy of this caliber REGARDLESS.

His offer list(per 24/7):
