I read today where Diedre is saying that it was only a 5 years offer with 5 years worth of options and lots of deferred money.

This was a simple business deal. The Cardinals offered him his market value at 5 x 26. If there were options added on to potentially get it to 10, that's smart on the Cardinals part.

On the other hand, smart is not a word I would use to describe the Pujols. It's a good thing Big Albert can hit a baseball.

Serious, Albert. God told you to go to Disney Land?

Has God shared with you how you are going toplaythe next 10 yearswithout the PED's?

this just doesn't pass the smell test. We'll miss his bat but that's about it.
The Cardinals will missmore than his bat. They'll miss theancillary revenue #5 brought in.

And the guys who hit around him will really miss him.

The problem the Cardinals faced wasthey knewnobody would miss him - baseball wise - in years 6-10.

This will get sourer before spring training comes around. It's amazing how insecure these megastars can be.
