The first mallard creek/ Byrnes game is my favorite game I ever watched. This will probably be a outstanding matchup

Will it be on one of the campuses or will it be a neutral site? Sounds like a game I’d like to go see!

I ended up talking to a guy at the end of the game who’s son was the long snapper (nice guy) but yes a real roller coaster game for sure. Best game ever don’t know if it could ever be topped IMHO

It was surreal. Once the heavy rain started the non football fans went to the exit. The real die hard ball fans were right there through the thunder and lightning that was flashing directly over the scoreboard......yes it was a full blown thunderstorm and they didn’t stop the game LOL. I and a few others were jumping up a down and chest bumping like teenagers LOL. Just a great game with two heavyweights.

I’m looking at the overhead map. That isn’t a 10,000 accomodating field on their campus. Am I looking at the right school? J.F. Byrnes High School, Duncan SC?

Right school.

For the Belle Glade game in 2005, their first TV game they sold over 9,000 tickets at $10 per. Game not included in season ticket package. Coaches passes were honored. Brought in metal bleachers on the top of visitor hill side. Had metal bleachers in the end zone away from field house.

Byrnes got zero from the gate. All went to ESPN to get them to televise. It was a festival setup. They made a huge amount on sponsors, clothing, concessions (inside and outside stadium), and got their name out on the national stage.

The first minutes were amazing but the last 60 seconds were EPIC THO. Question, I wander if the ball went past the L.O.S on the blocked kick that was picked up and ran into the end zone? When the refs huddled up I think they were like the commercial asking “did you see it? No did you ? No .....” LoL

I saw the video afterwards. The ball went quite a distance down field. I guess the question would be did a Byrnes player touch it before it was picked up by the Mallard Creek player.

I was at the first Mallard Creek vs Byrnes game or should I say I tried to be there. Had a few too many drinks prior to kickoff and was denied entrance. My friend who was with me got in. I had to listen in my car on the radio waiting for him but at least I stayed dry.

Whatever the other 7+ players that relocated got???

Bounced out in the second round? Page is usually good and they have no problem sending talented players to college. Oh well, I ain't mad at him just befuddled.

It's pretty common in Charlotte for programs to get new players every year from other schools. Nothing new, it's been going on for years. I'm a firm believer if you don't have your core guys who have been with the program since the beginning, you're not winning the Ship. Hough is trying to change that.

Recruiting happens at every school including Richmond. However, I will say when a school suddenly gets 10 transfers from all over it’s a bit fishy.

What position does the 336 player play?

Walker played 5 games at OLB for Page when starter Alex Angus suffered a high ankle sprain early in the year, the last part of the season he played at WR. Decent athlete with some size, 6'1 205lbs. He had 3 solo tackles -- 15 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, and 2 INTs. 10 catches for 177 yards and 1 receiving TD in 9 games played in his Sophomore season.

i had a feeling he was going to be shopped around.. its all cool. Its the classic situation where he didnt have a ton of production because there were seniors in front of him on the depth chart. He saw the field, but i guess not enough..

Mad? I have no idea who Isaac Walker is or if the kid can even play football. Also have no idea how Mr. Walker came about bringing his awesome skills to William A. Hough high school. I just think its funny that a 15 year old has taken to twitter to sign his NLI to a different HS.

Its not the first time, I am sure it wont be the last. I just find it sort of pathetic. Trying to figure out who is gonna be the first 8th grader to sit in a middle school gym at a table with mom, dad smiling on. 5 hats of different high schools sit on table....and the kid shocks everyone by putting on the Hopewell hat....... Mom is pissed and walks off stage because she was promised a free day of beauty at the local salon and tickets to see a Hornets game from the kids 2nd choice.

Go Team!!

It's a difference between our recruiting and Hough.Vance recruits but it's the parents recruiting other parents....for example I wear Vance apparel/gear to 7v7s or camps, hell I've had parents approach me in Walmart and Harris teeter. The parents see schools apparel I wear and give compliments of school and asks more about school because they're interested in moving to school....that's how we recruit at Vance. Hough insiders whether it's the parents or school insiders find and give top notch property for a reduced price whether its rental or property to b bought....I know first hand of one in particular. Kids announce commitments on Twitter like they're going to Alabama smh.

Charlotte is a major metropolitan city so Im sure Nepsy and B&G get approached all the when they wear their MC stuff out....and if parents already been looking to move in the Creek district are going to ask them about it. What Hough is doing is going over and beyond the regular "so tell me about your school" situation.

I have started wearing West Meck gear. I am hoping I can score some Penisula property.

It was interesting to watch quite a few of the Hough players signing location on signing day. Probably should have turned off the location settings as it tagged most back in the area that they actually live along with video of the home and parents business locations. Absolutely hilarious

If a student wanted to relocate from “the 336” to the Charlotte area, they’d need to somehow finagle an address out of the Piedmont Triad area.

I’m sure they are doing that...

But school systems are tightening up in the Piedmont for those who just want to attend an out of system school. Two examples... North Davidson kid playing at Parkland and another at East Forsyth.

Davidson is tightening that up next year. Many other systems in the area already have done so.
Its a money thing. That allotted money goes to the other county, much like it would if they left to attend a charter.
