Is it really in USCe's best interest for UGA to lose today?

I know it sounds like a dumbass question, but hear me out here. I was doing a little bit of thinking today and the prospect of there actually being a Bama/LSU rematch in the title game is pretty high thanks to OSU. Because of that, it opens up the outside possibility of there being 3 SEC teams in a BCS game.<div>
</div><div>Here's where I think USCe actually has a pretty legit shot... Let's assume that the probability of LSU going undefeated in the SECCG is pretty good. If USCe actually wins out, they would have beaten a top 10 Clemson team and more than likely moves in the top 10 and possibly over Arkansas even though they both will have 2 losses at this point. But here's where my question comes in... If UK actually pulls off the uncanny upset and throws USCe into the BCSCG, this will more than likely increase USCe's chances of having 3 losses on the season and out of the top 10.</div><div>
</div><div>Thinking about it this way... USCe will more than likely finish out in the top 10 during post season if they actually stay out of the SECCG and win out. Depending on who you ask... would you actually prefer going into the SECCG and not make a BCS game or stay out of the SECCG but go to a BCS game? I'd take the BCS personally.</div>

I'd take a one game shot at the SEC Championship every time. Especially, since S. Carolina will have very few chances at winning an SEC Championship in the future most likely.

Here's the link for their rules<div>
</div><div>And here's the particular quote in question:</div><div>
</div><div><p style="text-align: justify; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); "></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">At-large Eligibility
If there are fewer than 10 automatic qualifiers, then the bowls will select at-large participants to fill the remaining berths. An at-large team is any Football Bowl Subdivision team that is bowl-eligible and meets the following requirements:</p><ul style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: -webkit-left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">[*]A. Has won at least nine regular-season games, and[*]B. Is among the top 14 teams in the final BCS Standings.[/list]<p style="text-align: justify; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); "></p><p style="text-align: justify; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">Unless my reading comprehension has been degrading in the short years I've been on this Earth...I'm pretty positive that's a statement allowing up to 3 teams from the same conference to get BCS bids.</p></div>

In spite of the BCS' claim that the two best teams play in the national championship game, I think that is bogus.<div>
</div><div>The precedent set by the BCS selection committee is that Conference Championship games MATTER (unless you are Ohio State). This was set in 07 when a couple of one loss teams that didn't play for, or didn't win their conference title were overlooked in favor of LSU (Missouri, Kansas). The BCS will NOT ALLOW a matchup between 2 SEC teams. If Oregon wins the Pac12 Title and LSU wins the SEC title, it will be LSU and Oregon. Virginia Tech MAY make some noise. Should Georgia win, I would much imagine neither Alabama nor LSU will be in the title game without help. This is the precedent that has been set... I'm not trying to piss on anyone's idea on what will happen... but I'm just going off the decisions that have been made in the past. </div>

that 3 can go IF the #1 and #2 teams in the BCS (LSU & Bama in this scenario) are NOT the conference champion (would have to be UGA/USCe in this scenario), and that is only because Bama and LSU would meet in the BCS NCG, and UGA would play in the Sugar Bowl for winning the SEC

then that makes this thread pointless. I kept looking at it as if it were saying that one of them has to not be a conference champion, but I'm starting to see where I'm in error.
