Is Leonte Caroo the best player in rutgers modern history?

its Rice and Sanu for me at this point. Lets see what Caroo can do in the final 7 games against tough competition before declaring him the best but he is closing the gap
Anyone who says any player but Rice doesn't understand how good he really was.
Herschel Walker is sometimes called the greatest college football player ever. He's also considered by any as the best RB ever in college.

And a different one ... This one shows very good patterns and catches, and runs after catches ... then some bone-crushing blocks ... then some of his great Wildcat runs (including a weird view of his 90-yard run) ... and finally his acrobat, gravity defying catches, including his 3rd or 4th down catch while on his back reaching back on a very badly thrown Dodd ball, his one handed leaping TD catch, and several other tremendously acrobat catches:
People remember that Sanu was a GREAT WR for RU ... not good, but great. BUT they forget that he was also RU's best runner while he played for RU (unfortunate, but true, exacerbated by just awful OL's) ... Also, his best position would probably have been Safety, and had he been able to actually play Safety for RU (RU was so short offensive play makers, Sanu had to play WR as a Frosh), he might have been an All American at Safety, and maybe an All Pro in the NFL ... Oh yeah, he could throw the ball a little also ... and he might have been RU's best punter had he only focused on punting.
people forget - if he had come back for his senior year - he probably would have become NCAA all time leader in rushing yards....
but, Sanu was a beast

Geeze people.. it is obviously Ray Rice. How many times did we see Rice face 8 or more in the box and win that battle?
Brian Leonard might have been the most important.. as he set the stage for everyone to BELIEVE Rutgers could succeed. Carroo is probably the best receiver.
Maybe we should make a list by position.

Plus theyve been to the playoffs all three of Sanu's seasons there and almost surely this year as well.
Coleman's the better athlete, Carroo's the better player he goes after the ball so well. Sanu was good, but I'd take Carroo over them.

Leonte will be in the top 5 conversation but no one -ever- impacted RU like Ray.
I agree about Leonard, and Davis, and Britt but Ray put us on the map.
I will say, though, that Britt has one of the best crack back blocks I've ever seen. Sanu was also good at blowing people up....

Since the topic was "Best Player" and not "Best Offensive Player" I find it hard to believe no one has mentioned Devon McCourty. His senior year was as good a year as a player had ever had here. Besides stellar play in the secondary, he was a special teams animal. That year, if I remember correctly, he blocked a punt, forced a fumble on punt coverage and ran a kick off back for a TD.
