talking about the Pepsi Center scheduling snafu. Apparently, a WWE event and the Western Conference Finals are both scheduled to take place there next Monday and Vince McMahon is basically saying, "Too damn bad, I have a signed contract." To make matters worse, the WWE contract was signed at the end of the regular season when they already knew they were the 2 seed, per ESPN. (The link I just added suggests WWE booked the Areana last year, which is contrary to what SportCenter said this morning.) Great planning there.

Edited to add this link: WWE Bumped I guess this means it's settled.

Apparently, the arena was booked last August and the contract was signed as late as April 11. It seems like the Nuggets ownership should have recognized they had a team capable of reaching the Western Conference finals on April 11. That would have given both sides six weeks to come up with Plan B.

Thanks. That explains the comment on SportsCenter this morning. Talk about having a lot of faith in your team.

Back to your original point, this is more like Polk than LT. Kind of like scheduling baseball camp the weeks of the College World Series.

If it states that events may be bumped due to future events involving the primary tenant, then the WWE has no case and Kroenke is just being smart by maximizing profits where he can.

there is no loophole in the WWE contract and Vince McMahon has stated that the WWE trucks are on their way to Denver. If there is one person on this planet that will NOT back down from this, it's Vince McMahon.

I have to say, though, it would be pretty funny to turn on the Denver/LA game next Monday and see HHH, Batista, and a few other 300-lb monsters sitting behind the benches throwing **** at the players.

but something tells me artest wouldn't be so quick to jump into the stands after those monsters.

seriously, WWE trying to find another site will be a logistical nightmare. i would certainly expect some legal action from WWE, assuming the contract did not provide for bumping. if it did, then it's his own fault for not having a backup plan. if it didn't, then the bump-ers will be paying a hefty price.
