Is Stans job really in jeopardy?

This team isn't making the NCAA short of a SEC Tournament win. My question is: is there any chance that Rick actually loses his job this year?

He just signed an extension. I'm still pissed about that. Who thought it was a good idea to sign this moron to an extension? I have no idea what is buyout is. The only way he gets fired is if something absolutely ridiculous happens.

the kind of hardware he has. Stans' accomplishments stack up against almost any coach of any sport in Mississippi State history.*

*that's not saying much, but still is a factor.

..today was the first time I have seem this team play, & when you see them on TV, they are even worse that what comes across the radio.

Stansbury is making a fool of himself by trotting out this mess. Of course, the people who pull the strings on coaches @MSU do not get pissed until we get the crap beat out of us by Ole Miss.

Ole Miss is going to beat this team by 20 points both times we play them. And that will mark the end of Stansbury's tenure @MSU.

I have always been a Stans fan, he and Meo were customers of mine when I worked in Starkville and I always loved their passion for MSU. But this is ridiculous. I started to change my tune earlier this year when someone pointed out that we have not been to the sweet sixteen in 12 years. Anything short of a 12-4 SEC record for me is reason to consider it. Yeah we may be a better team and a complete team when Bost and Sidney are back but Sidney's problems are coach related Bost's ineligibility is coach related so I don't want to hear that excuse. I've heard we can't do better, we have the 6th highest paid coach in the SEC. We have the 11th highest paid coach in football but we've seemed to turn it around there. Remember we went to the Final Four without a point guard, yeah with Stans recruits, but Williams coaching. If this team does not gel, between the lack of control and not winning the big game he needs to step down.

But next year it will we be all or nothing..

Stansbury the last 5 years:

32-57 vs RPI top 100- how awful is that?

45-6 against RPI 150 and lower

And that doesnt include this seasons craptastic games

His supporters talk about 20 win seasons- but damn- who couldnt against 150 RPI and lower? This program can do better, but we have to demand it. Hopefully this season wakes enough people up to make next season do or die

Being that you state them every 3rd post, I beg to differ. We get it.

And who the 17 are these mythical "supporters" that you keep referring to? Hell even me, Brian, and Costanza are off the wagon. Hell if anything you are being too generous by being willing to give him next year. I would fire him at the end of this one.</p>

if we lose to Bama and then Ole Miss the next week, there won't be 400 people in the Hump at the next home game. At that point our AD should be making plans to replace Stans and the entire staff. Our teamis undisciplined and unmotivated and got outrebounded by friggin Belhaven Univ!!!!

something about Jones writing about his 20 win seasons, and this is our first down season....**** like that is just being uninformed about what is really happening. Some people also mention about firing him after all he has won- but those RPI stats clearly show he isnt winning anything against anybody that matters.

And I think he should be gone after this season too, but after stupidly extending his contract this past Spring, there is no way its going to happen. We cant afford to fire him until next April

Assuming we get a coach that fires up the base and puts 2000 more asses in the seats thats an extra 300,000 dollars in revenue. If we build on that like 2010 football it could be an extra 4000.

and since we dont get concessions- it doesnt matter how many actually attend the games. Next season should be different though- I see quite a few season tickets not being renewed

Sorry for my ignorance but I lived in Starkville and could always get tickets. Then moved 7 hours away. If you wanted to get individual tickets at the window you can't?

He will be given 2011-12 and 2012-13, I have already been told this by a couple of people who would know

That being said, he might resign after next season if things really bottom out

Now, as far as the current season, people do not realize how bad the league is....This team can easily easily win 10 league games without breaking much of a sweat...We will not lose to either Alabama or Ole Miss at home, it is that simple

So hoping for the year to bottom out and this being the year, well that is not going to happen

Renardo is a 100 pct thug, it is pure and simple...He is a chain smoker and if you believe some peopele I have talked to, he is one drug test away from a suspension much greater than any he has served already

You can blame Rick for singing him...However, you can't blame Rick for his attitude or what has happened since...He is pretty much worthless

Now the incoming sign class better see playing time right around and had better work out, otherwise Rick and Meo will be house hunting in another city...but trust me, we have a way to go before that happens

How the hell can you not blame Rick? EveryCoach I played for you played their game by their rules or you went elsewhere. Maybe if Stans had balls instead of a soft fleshy patch it would be a different situation.

No wonder our team and program is in the ******* and getting flushed further down the pipe. Our players don't have to answer to the coach or be held responsible for their actions by the coach. Damn why can't I work for Rick.

So, it is not Stansbury's responsibility to make sure his players are in shape?

So, it is not Stansbury's responsibility to make sure his players follow certain rules and abide by the schools set rules?

So, it is not Stansbury's responsibility to make sure his team follows his instruction?

What exactly is Stansbury responsible for? Oh, that is right, as long as he recruits we don't give a ****.

I am blown away by your post and hope you were being sarcastic.

Halftime...North Texas 42, LSU 26

Halftime...Texas Southern 35, Arkansas 33

Final...Furman 89, South Carolina 75

And the beat goes on.....

We might can even get to 12-4 in the league

I still don't think we are worth a 17.....I just don't think people understand how really horrid the rest of the league is

Rick is in charge of the rules and the discipline of the team

Renardo cussed out Brandon Bolen in practice and tried to beat the crap out of him

Now how exactly is Rick responsible for that...Is he supposed to leap through the air and tackle Renardo

Someone explain that to me

those wins don't give us tourney consideration. This will be 4 of the last 5 years that we haven't put together a season deserving of a bid.

But I agree he is here for a while unless something nuts happens.

There is a certain degree of respect you give a fellow competitor when you are coached well. How many times do you hear about Duke players punching each other? Many people have been earholed in football practice but don't jump up and start a fight because they are coached better.
