We really needed another thread about this. Can DS just make a uniform and logo board so everyone who wants to discuss uniforms and logos can just do it there?
For the cost of buying some helmet stickers our athletic department could make a lot of people very happy but they just won't do it. It's not complicated. We don't have to do some major rebrand or anything expensive.
Plenty of Football teams don't have their "primary logo" on their helmet. Just buy the 17ing stickers and let us have our football helmets back.

Ha. I hate gay &tate more than any of you. But I want it off the helmet more than anything. If this is what it takes to make people happy so be it.
Why are you assuming you have to compromise? Make who happy? How many people? Only 7% of Sixpackspeak’ers picked gay &state in my last poll thread. That means that only 7% of people on this site are gay. Gay &tate belongs in the ladies section. We shouldn’t have too or feel the need to cater to the small minority of gay STATE fans just to make them happy.
Have we tried interlocking State and MSU script. Mock it up and get it on my desk by EOD Monday.
I like it. I would prefer banner msu rather than state. I don't like m state. I feel like it's like "state ". Fine to wear to games but you can't travel in the state gear or no one knows who it refers to and we're trying to brand, get exposure. On a jersey though, I like it but would put banner ms state as stated above if I had my way
I think it would make a certain age group happy. Mainly the age group of this board… 40-60. Much younger than 40 and they don’t really remember that logo. Most of the fresh out of college crowd I work with like the script better. I like the script not sure I love it on the helmet
I honestly would like to know if this is true. We kind of are a message board of grumpy old men. I think when it comes to the uniforms it’s somewhat of an echo chamber in here. I have no idea what the yutes think about it. It would be interesting to know.
I can’t say I spend much time with people under the age of 25 right now but from what I see around the office, church and on campus when I’m there for a game, over 40 crowd bought up a lot of the interlocking MSU a few years ago and wears the hell out of it. The under 30 crowd, they seem to wear the script state or baseball logo. I will say the baseball logo I see pretty much all age groups wearing it.
Let’s face it: Logos are so divisive that the best thing to do is concentrate on the color coordination.
With State playing home games in September and sucking so much in football that you know it’ll be a steady diet of 11 am games this season, it’ll be scorching hot this season.
The answer to that: White Uniforms with Maroon Numbers and White Helmets
Yeah, we hate that combination but given our talent isn’t great in comparison to our conference brethren, let’s at least use the weather to our advantage.
With State playing home games in September and sucking so much in football that you know it’ll be a steady diet of 11 am games this season, it’ll be scorching hot this season.

And this is why I think this should be the main sports logo, football and basketball included. This is the one unifying logo that ALL State fans could get behind and support.

Stick with the script State. It looks better and it MUCH better for national branding.
