Is this your final year to decide on Mullen as being the coach...

My thinking is that I don't expect a run at Atlanta every year. I do feel that when we return by far the most experienced team in the SEC along with the most depth I've seen in years at State we need to be able to assume the helm. If we get beat by an Alabama team that has a QB that has never started an SEC game and an LSU team who has lost all their scoring players from last year then that is not good enough. We have to be able to go for it all when the chips are heavily stacked in our favor.

It took Spurrier, Beamer and Bowden quite a few years to get all of the pieces of the puzzle to come together. It looks like Dan now has his QB that can run his system in place, along with what could be a punishing defense. He also seems to be turning the corner on recruiting. Patience my friends could be rewarded in spades.

7 wins with none of them being Ole Miss would be a big step backward for Mullen even in the eyes of many of his most loyal fans. He wouldn`t be fired obviously but never underestimate what losing to Ole Miss does to a State coach`s job security. Myself , I`ve never been sold on the guy as a coach but I`m ready to be.

I depends on what St Mark does at ULL**

Not really. Hud is most likely going 10-2 and 11-1 is not outside the realm of possibility.

Mullen wins 9, no one is going to complain regardless of Hudspeth and where he ends up. Mullen underachieves again(7 or fewer depending on injuries), the pressure will ramp up. Winning fewer than 8 with this team would be a big underachievement given the transition the rest of the SECw is undergoing. It's unlikely that the stars align for us like this more than once a decade. We've simply got to capitalize. Now is the chance.

8 this year = 6 last year IMO...chalk.

It's way too early to be smoking crack ...

If we have 7 wins Mullen and the whole gang needs to be run out if town.

'Cause I can't believe that a sane, rational MSU fan would actually make such a statement.

This is 'reality' ... If State were to win 7 games and then actually "run Dan Mullen and his staff out of town," (your words) we wouldn't be able to find a Jr High school coach dumb enough to even think about coming to Starkville.

Nobody in his 'right mind' would even entertain the thought of coaching in the toughest division of the toughest conference at a school that just fired a coach that took them to five bowl games in six years.

Instead of posting crap like this, we actually need to be thinking 'how' we can keep this staff ... Mullen, Geoff Collins, Hughes, Knox, Turner, Deshea Townsend, Gonzales and Brian Johnson ... together with the smallest football coaching payroll in the SEC.
