We all know about the Arkansas jinx we have, but damn I don't know why we can't beat this team this year.

Isn't it his first year? You'd have to be a fanbase

chock full of window-licking, mouthbreathing idiots, spending most days teetering on a razor-thin edge of sanity, smothering under a set of self-imposed ridiculously high expectations to fire a historically successful coach after one year.
But we are talking about Arkansas fans here, so good luck Bert.
At least his inexplicably hot wife still likes him (I assume. I hope).

We were picked to finish last in the west. It's to be expected. A lot of people don't like our OC Jim Chaney for our playcalling in the last two games but this year shouldn't be put on bielema. We lost our top two RBs, best WR, best TE and best QB from last year. I said a lot of this in another thread but, instead of losing 58-10 like we did to A&M last year we lost by 12. We played Florida fairly well most of the game. Yesterday was terrible though. For being such a good offensive coach Petrino didn't leave us much at WR...the only good units on this team are RB, TE and DL. OL is average and the rest suck. We could have a new starting QB next year if Allen doesn't improve...he's been mentally weak.

However there are some bright spots...we start 2 true freshmen on the OL, have the best freshman TE in the nation, have a great freshman RB in collins and a pretty good sophomore backup, and two of our best players on the DL yesterday were freshmen. So we are pretty young. Our OL could be really good next year. But we'll have to see. Petrino went 5-7 his first year

Think Arkansas fired their coach after he lost the opening game of the '92 season. They don't put up with lackluster football, like some other teams do.

Don't remember the year but they fired Jack Crowe after The Citadel beat them opening game one year something like 10-7, it was early 90's so you're probably right

after this year. This team is not improved over the nutjob John L.

I don't see how they justified paying him $3.25M when they brought him in from Wisconsin. They had a decent team but not a superb one and played in a much easier conference.

My thoughts exactly. They basically just loaded up on corn-fed OL and ran the ball. He basically lived on guys transferring in too. The best players they ever had under him were JJ Watt and Russell Wilson, transfers.

They're going to have to give him time though. No way a guy who runs his offense is able to piece together a spread roster for the ground-and-pound.

$3.25M is a drop in the bucket to Arkansas. They are Wal-Mart rich. If I'm hiring at Arkansas I'm going after the Baylor coach or Kingsbury at TTech.

What does John L Smith have to do with it? He was the coach for six months. Petrino is two for two in dumpster fires started.

Petrino's awful recruiting is the main cause but last year's coaching disaster didn't help

If Briles wants to leave Baylor, he'll go to Texas. Yes, he will be one of the top candidates for the job and will probably get it if he wants it.

If Kingsbury ever leaves his alma mater where he's a hero, which he may not for anywhere, it will be for somewhere much bigger than Arkansas.
