How much worse can things get for Freeze? Gross says his visit to Southern gave him a lot to think about tonight on RebSportsRadio.

this is it, with the momentum and positivity they have, plus the dumpster fire that Ole Miss is. And no, Deandre Brown and Anthony Alford don't count. We know their situation.<div>
</div><div>If Isaac Gross was as highly thought of as Ole Miss seems to think he is, then bigger schools would have come and stolen him by now. Reality sets in, and it's USM they have to worry about.</div>

I don't think he will actually flop, but if he does the bears will spin it as a grade issue that suddenly came about.

I don't expect Gross to flip to USM, but there are a ton of Rebel fans sweating it with him right now.

Did he stay back two years or is he that dumb, if it's the latter he might have grade issues... No wonder SP is always so good.. I was 17 when I graduated High School, what's up with these older kids these days..

Gross said he had a great visit and was very impressed with EJ. Word is that he made the USM visit because his sister goes to USM and she wanted him to make the visit. Evidently he had a great time and was very impressed with EJ. I don't expect him to switch though. Maybe a 25% chance at best. If EJ had been recruiting him longer maybe he changes.

the way the guy has seemed wishy washy this whole time, you would think that if another sec school made a big push, he would be gone. I think his size may be keeping a lot of schools from getting after him. I know he did good at the UA game and those were good OL that he was going against, but they haven't been in college for two years either. It is all about how players project two and thee years down the road and maybe gross doesn't project that well b/c of his size.

is that after a little "bump" from the trip to Hattiesburg, the kid is back to normal. However, another more important item is that apparently Freeze is doing really well with junior recruiting. My opinion is thatfor Mullen to underestimate the recruiting ability of this Rookie is to do so at his peril.

And I doubt Mullen is going to underestimate anyone... I bet he likes the taste of blood he's getting this year.<div>
</div><div>Also the 'Spirit' said Gross only went down there to visit his Sister, not meet with the coaches. They are pumping whatever sunshine they can right now. It should be plainly obvious that Freeze and Co. are not impressing recruits.</div>

& SEC... Offer!,.... does for his Junior Recruits.

Rats from a sinking ship...But, I don't doubt for a second that the Bears will be spreading the $.
Looks like it just did not matter this year, we will know Wednesday.

My opinion is that I doubt Mullen will underestimate any opponent, but honestly, it would be very easy to underestimate this guy if any of the stories regarding the recruits below are true:

1. The Richie Brown situation where he said he was not welcome on campus,
2. The Jeremy Liggins' situation where he met with him and TSUN actually lost ground with him,
3. The fact that a South Panola guy is even considering switching to Southern,
4 The fact that it is the night before signing day, and TSUN only has about 16 commits, only about 11 of which are high school recruits,
5. The fact that the strategy for TSUN now appears to be to poach from the Ark State guys that Freeze had locked up.

Dumpster Fire! I'll bet Channing wishes he didn't have to go there and could go to Bama or elsewhere. I understand with his brother there it is really hard not to go there, but if his brother only has one year remaining, this is a very bad decision. I can see him wasting away in a Croom-like three to four years.

Are you freaking kidding me! He wants people to believe that Freeze is recruiting so well for 2013 that it's being used against them by other coaches and players are scared to commit there!!!!<div>
</div><div>He's losing guys to Ark State, La Tech, and Kentucky. And now maybe USM. Frankly I would not blame Gross, Ellis Johnson is light years better than Dave Wommack.</div>

Freeze must have a 6 year plan like Croom had if he thinks he can live off of next year's recruiting class. One year away, and let's see how all this supposed great recruiting works after another 2 to 4 win season.

I'm pretty sure that Terrance Pope was not a highly rated prospect, and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a heated battle between TSUN and Southern for him seeing as how he was a two star defensive end who I think only had another offer from Memphis.

In the current situation, Gross is a fairly highly regarded recruit who is engaged in a recruiting battle between TSUN and Southern.

Per his recruiting page on Scout,Tarance Popewas a 2* player with offers from USM and Memphis. Not too hard to sign a South Panola player away from the Bears when they don't even offer him.

Ward is going to Ole Miss, without exception. Arrangements were taken care of by the previous coaching staff over a year ago. There is no way he goes anywhere else, but he honestly wishes he "did not make that deal", for whatever that is.

Gross is likely to flip tomorrow. Not that it is breaking news, but he's nuclear pumped about Ellis Johnson.

Can't believe they are that much disarray. I can usually think about this objectively. I know things change year to year. But I've never seen them look this pathetic in recrootin. They are so bad that Yancy can't even make it look good.

I remember that 2008 class was pretty terrible as far as qualifiers go, thus USM racked up. Deandre Brown n ****.

Deandre Brown had the academics to get into MSU, OM, LSU, etc by the time he enrolled at USM. He made the honor roll several times at USM as well. fwiw

EAVdog, until I read your post, it hadn't even occurred to me to think (or worry) about USM getting any good players. Now that I've thought about it.......still not worried.

You have one 5 star recruit in your history and you just went 12-2 against the 117th hardest schedule in the country. We're all impressed, you are without a doubt the tallest midget to ever win gold at the special Olympics. We are in awe. Now go enjoy your 75th rated recruiting class and let us wallow in the sorrows of our measly top 20 class.
