Risk of burning restaurants is inversely proportional to level of cash flow. Not mysterious.

In most cases, yes. But I knew the guy that ran the old Iron Horse and talked to him about it. He was doing a great business. The first fire was because the vents were old and not properly cleaned and caught fire (which is his fault). The second was just bad luck. iHe was a good guy and I really don't think either fire was for insurance money.

Sounds like a friction fire caused by the mortgage note rubbing against the insurance payout.

Same site. Different ownership and management. Supposed to be similar to the old Iron Horse but with some changes. One being that it will host the Mississippi Blues Museum. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, but I'm excited about it. The old Iron Horse did a killer lunch business but it also did a lot of night business too, especially on weekends.

When I first heard that it was re-opening I was pumped. Then I figured out that Patrick Kelly (MInt and Julep) was involved with it I quickly changed my tune. So when it opens just get ready to see tons of y'all lifestyle gear. I know I won't be going unless some good bands decide to play there.

There's a limit on how good a burger can be

I work with some hamburger nuts who debate this all the time, and it sounds like arguing over the best PB&J. No matter what you do to it, it's still just a damn hamburger.

I'm keeping an open mind about it. I doubt it'll be as good as the old Iron Horse and it definitely won't be the same. But that's a great building if it's properly renovated and the potential is there.
