And let's not put Bob in with Perry since he's not being paid by the club or running practices, showing technique and wrestling with the guys. Just because Perry was labeled a booster that doesn't mean he wasn't a coach his job was RTC coach . Lumping Bob in with Perry is a bigger jump then lumping all the big boosters together 🤷
Yean, yeah. Perry coaches and illegally recruits. Nicolls illegally recruits and pays those recruits. I get it, somehow in your version Nicolls isn't dirty because well he is more like Ira (NOT) than Perry.

The issue with Perry is the Club pays him a salary. He's at every practice and travels with the team he also recruits. They had to call him a "booster" to punish him. Iowa st thought they found a loophole and the NCAA let them know that won't be tolerated. He's basically a coach no other "boosters" that people have mentioned are actually coaches thats the difference Perry was a coach he sat right behind the bench and would get up and tell them when to throw the brick . It's kinda hard to act like he was not a coach at Iowa st doing what he was doing on a daily basis. Remember Hamiti left KC and went directly to Stillwater after NCAA before he entered the portal Perry was doing this at Oklahoma st as well he just now got caught
Just so I'm tracking this correctly, when you say "they had to call him a booster to punish him" who is the "they" you're referring to (NCAA or Iowa State)?

Sorry if I'm missing something that's obvious to everyone else, but aren't boosters allowed to have contact with wrestlers from other teams? If they're punishing him because he was actually a coach, why can't they call him a coach?

Because he's not a coach on staff he's an RTC coach. Hes involved in day to day operations and at practice, traveling with the team and recruiting. No booster in college wrestling is running the room , wrestling with guys and recruiting. The NCAA couldn't punish him as a coach because he's not a coach at the University he's an RTC coach . So they gave him a booster tag. The punishment of disassociation means no contact with athletes, coaches or administrators for 2 years

What Perry did and was doing is like nothing anyone else was or is doing. He ran the room , showed technique, wrestled with guys, traveled with the team and was paid by the RTC as a coach. No other boosters in wrestling are doing that. People are now trying to act like Bob and other boosters are the same when it's just not even remotely true. Iowa st knew what they were doing and thought his title made it legal the NCAA had an issue with him being involved in day to day operations.

You are real fixated on Perry's classification as a booster, as though you think the NCAA had to stretch to call him that in order to issue punishment. But it is not a stretch. Perry exactly fits the NCAA definition of booster. That he doesn't fit your decinition is irrelevant.

From the NCAA:

Who is considered a booster?
A booster is defined as an individual, independent agency, corporate entity (e.g., apparel or equipment manufacturer) or other organization who is known (or who should have
been known) by a member of the institution’s executive or athletics administration or an athletics department staff member
to have participated in or to be a member of an agency or organization promoting the institution’s intercollegiate athletics program, to have made financial contributions to the athletics department or an institution’s booster organization, to assist or to have been requested (by the athletics department staff) to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, or to assist or to have assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their family members.

Once he assisted in recruiting he achieved booster status. This is not a new definition either.

Never said it was NEW they're not going after boosters in wrestling. Perry was a coach but not on staff so the NCAA couldn't punish him that way. I have known about this case for over a year and have been updated every step of the way. The NCAA was taking phones long ago. Perry wouldn't give up his phone hes not an NCAA coach so he refused. Lawyers have been dealing with this for awhile now. I just give the information I have you can believe it or not . No one knew this was coming it was supposed to come out before Labor Day but Perry got a lawyer trying to keep his name out of the release so it was delayed

Nor did they need to punish him as a coach....because he was a booster.
He's a coach whos at practice everyday but doesn't cash university checks so they couldn't punish him as a coach like they would've liked to. Anyone who donates to Penn st is a booster and if they talk to a HS kid about going to Penn st that's illegal. The NCAA doesn't care about that . They care when someone is a coach playing a double role.

No it is not illegal to talk to a kid about going to PSU. It only becomes illegal if that kid is enrolled elsewhere and not in the portal. Like what Perry did. You like to make these sweeping, incorrect statements.

Wrong that would be illegal if he enrolled at Penn st. But no University AD is gonna turn that in because they know the NCAA isn't gonna do anything. We can agree to disagree and move on believe whatever you want

I agree you keep saying illogical things and harping on a booster being a booster.

I'm not sure what the argument is about here. I think Corby's explanation is logical. The NCAA only payed attention to this because of Perry's direct association with the team.
