That defending the three could be what keeps us out of the tournament. Is Jan’s not embarrassed yet?

We’re not missing the tournament. My God. Are we a great team? No. But we’re a solid tournament team. Our conference losses are to teams currently ranked 1, 2, 3, 5, 15, and 21. We have four unranked teams left on our schedule, and we’re 4-0 against unranked conference teams as of now. If we win those games, that puts us at 9-9 in conference play and somewhere around a 7 seed.

As is usually the case, the best explanation of why a team is "hot" or "cold" is the schedule. We weren't hot during preseason and we're cold now. We're playing better teams now. Our NET is #30. We're 16-1 vs teams ranked below us. We're 1-6 vs teams ranked above us. It's that simple. We have 3 teams ranked above us and 4 ranked below us remaining.

agree.

And if we want to be better at this moving forward we have to basically get a better roster. Need some size and length, a shooter or two.. and someone else on the floor that can turn Hubbard into either option B or a more effeicent option A

More size and length allows for better close outs on 3s that you have to be able to execute with Jans aggressive defense. We don't have enough of it on this team. Jans didn't design bad 3 pt defense we just don't have the players or commitment to defend the 3 like he wants to defend it. He needs to adjust the defensive scheme but I'm not sure he will I mean that's his calling card so I think we'll get much of the same. Good to great teams will kill us from 3 and we'll probably continue to get away with it with lesser teams unless they have a rat.

What does it matter if he is embarrassed yet or not? He could be angry or frustrated instead of embarrassed, and that wouldnt matter.
What his feeling is on a specific issue doesnt matter if the team isnt capable of improving.

Sure, lets say he is embarrassed. Ok then...so what? He already knew the team is getting lit up by not being able to recover and defend perimeter shots that come off of penetration or a reversal.

I feel like we should be throttling a full court press. We give up wide open 3s in sets, and all the opponents seem to improve their 3 percentage playing us.
