Isn't it the boosters on the hook for $50M instead of the state? Don't coaches get a relatively low base salary that's largely supplemented by the Bengal Club (or whatever they call it there).

What business is it of Landry's anyway? Tater better not have anything to do with our hiring process..............
They don’t have a president right now so the Governor has been more involved from what I read.

Barring a total collapse with the team quitting on him, all of this craziness convinces me we're keeping Lebby.

I could totally see Trump picking Tuberville as LSU's next coach. Please let that happen

In Mississippi, yes, don't know about Louisiana. Sounds like he just fired the AD, directly, or indirectly.

Yeah, I can't see firing Lebby now. Give him another year. It's lot less expensive that way. Unless we can pick up an experienced coach from a smaller school but one that has proven experience and ones the bigger schools like LSU, Florida, and Penn State would overlook.

I don’t disagree with Landry that the contracts are ridiculous. Like I posted in another thread, it might be time for the state university systems to put an end to these massive buy outs. I’m normally for less government oversight and less rules, but this is out of control.
They have control. The Board has to approve these contracts. The problem is they just rubber stamp them.

We agree. That’s what I meant. They can use more oversight and put an end to this but they don’t

Again. Lame said it wasn't about money. Lsu checks all the boxes. Not just the contract. They are going to get who they want. That's lame if they want him.

I don’t think there’s any doubt we’re keeping Lebby. But I sure would like another win. Or two.

They’ll pay. But so will Florida & so will Mississippi.
Um doesn't have lsu or Florida money. Different league. And that wouldn't pull from other sports. I hope um goes all in to keep Kiffin because that will leave a bare panty which I'm sure Kiffen knows that. We can only hope he stays but lose his nil $ in doing so

UM is currently paying more than Florida & about in par with LSU and their NIL doesn’t seem to be suffering. They’ll pay. And have money left over for NIL. And if they make the playoffs that’s just that much more money generated. What they understand that we don’t is money invested isn’t an expense. It’s a revenue generator.

Florida and LSU can take down Bama regularly if they get it together. Others cannot. That's why Saban offers any comment at all.

Kiffin has made Oxford-Lafayette County and Ole Miss a tremendous amount of Money. $15Million per year would be a bargain.

Exactly. Just like when one of the Alabama board of trustees members said when asked about Nick Sabans outrageous contract a few years after he was hired, “Nick Saban is the best financial investment the University of Alabama has ever made.”
