We’re not taking more than 2 transfers unless Cliff doesn’t return. What are our fans complaining about? We have 3 promising frosh recruits coming in. None of them are back fills like Chol. We have 2 returning sophomores who showed good development last season. AND - 4 out of 5 season long starters from a team that just missed the tournament. I’m not even factoring in Hyatt but right now he’s on the roster too. That’s 10 guys plus Chol as a back fill. Transfers are looking to come in and be impact players. We do not have room for more than 2 of those types of guys. Most likely it will be one. Some of you really need to calm down.
There is a reason Oskar took Hyatts minutes near the end of the season. If Oskar is not a p5 player what makes you think Hyatt is. Is it because he is choosing to stay.

I like some back and forth, an argument even, as much as anyone, but I can't understand people who just want to spew hate all the time. Seems like a miserable existence to me. Message boards are bad, but Twitter is the worst for those types.
Are you saying you think we'll go with a roster of 11? That's unlikely. Too much stuff happens during the season not to have 12

My social media universe is pretty small because of this - no Twitter, etc. I have my Facebook settings pretty dialed in (eg, if I join a group and it’s filled with a’hole trolls I exit the group).
Social media is good when people want to have an honest dialogue but gets really tiring when it gets taken over by trolls or people who come with an agenda (and every comment is geared/ twisted to support their agenda).

My issue isn't your opinion on whether a player is good or not. My issue is with calling out a student athlete as "they stink" or any other derogatory. I won't argue some players under-perform or have bad performances.
I won't, however, denigrate a student athlete for putting in the time and effort to play for our alma mater. Sorry, but I have little patience for it. To greatly paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt, I have more respect for people who get in the pit and DO something than for anyone who complains about it without doing it first....
No - I’m saying that after the first 2 transfers secured - the other open slots will be back filled with Agee / Chol types. We’re not landing 3 premium portal kids. There’s no chance.
“Stinks” isn’t my preferred vernacular, but is that different than “not Big10 caliber” ? I personally think Hyatt IS Big10 caliber and does not stink, but I think the meaning is the same and therefore equally acceptable. This isn’t youth sports.
Not sure "Agee/Chol types" should be mentioned in the same breath, especially since Chol left HS a year early. His talent just might be underestimated.
Way too early to group Agee and Chol together especially since Chol reclassified and joined the team late and was always going to be more of a high upside developmental project
I have to imagine the hit rate on guys like Chol is very very very low at the high major level. I'm still of the opinion that he was brought in because we needed a practice body late, which is fine if that's what we needed but his ultimate impact is likely to be Agee level at best.
We were a sweet 16 team if we didn’t lose Mag for the season and Paul had two arms to play with. Caleb was also beaten up.
What changes this year if paul and cliff come back? We lose caleb, but replace him with a superstar. Make no mistake about it. Gavin becomes a prolific scorer in the big 10. He is a 5 star and you’ll see why when he gets here. Also add Ndongo and Davis, and return a more experienced simpson and Woolf.
The big headline for this year is going to be Cliffs dominance. If we somehow land Noah, there will be 3 guys who will shoot 40% plus from 3 point range, playing alot of minutes. And Mulcahy will find cliff open down low as teams will have no choice but to step out and defend our shooters.
Pike knows exactly what hes doing. And in 2024, we are a top 10 program.

Actually, we complained on missing out on almost every transfer, and our team missed the NCAA tournament because of it.
To be clear, I was not saying Chol is destined to become what Agee did. Coming in, there was a chance Agee might’ve contributed more. We know one outcome, the other is still TBD. The point I was making is that after the first 2 transfers we bring in, the rest of the additions will not be kids that other power conferences are heavily recruiting. We will strategically pick amongst the leftovers to fill out the roster.
We were the 12th best team in the country (Torvik) from the beginning of the season right up until Mag's injury. It's highly highly unlikely we would have been able to get anyone in the portal better than what Palmquist/Reiber were able to give, considering that's the role we would have been recruiting to.
Correct - we had added Cam on top of returning 3 starters plus our whole bench from an NCAA team. Along with bringing in a typical frosh class of 2 (I’m not counting Chol).
You don’t bring a guy in to be a late practice body. That fact is, he was getting playing time before he got hurt.
You are missing the point. Maybe he turns out to be a huge steal, but Chol was not a heavily recruited kid. He was a late pick up to fill a roster.

I'm sorry I don't want to hear that we couldn't find an upgrade over Reiber and palm in the portal cause that's just ludicrous. They were literally worthless on last year's team. There were likely 500 kids out in the portal would would've been better
How many of them were willing to avg 7 minutes of playing time?
Probably that we have 80 single game tickets for sale against Central Connecticut State on a Tuesday night in a snowstorm.
Well, non tournament team. Seems like a lot more than that was available for a better player when minutes are being handed out like candy to palm, Paul, and reiber.

You missed the point that he was a late reclassification from the class of 2023 to 2022 because Steve wanted to lock him down while he could. He got to campus late and then got injured. He was not a 4* with offers from across the country, but we don’t know what his recruitment would have looked like if he stayed in 2023z
