Taking this the other way- you can really feel the shift start to happen. I am seeing some critical opinions- mine included, from pre season, who are very happy what we have seen this year.

I have also noticed that on my morning walks- previous few seasons- not many mention my Rutgers shirts and hats but it is starting to happen again. Let's hope we keep the momentum and take the next big step too!

It feels a little bit like the first Schiano stint. I think it was maybe 2005 where you could feel things start to turn. We won some games and played tougher competition tougher.

Truthfully 2004 is where I felt the turn started. Not only in performance on the field, but a general overall shift within the program. The first game was indicative of where we were heading: not just the win over Michigan State, but when we came to the stadium that had painted all of the gray cinder block walls Rutgers Red. All of a sudden you just started getting the feeling that maybe we could be a big time program after all. We started out 4-2, but after the accident following the Temple game we went 0-5 to end up 4-7 on the season. If that accident hadn't occurred, I think we would have eked out at least 1 or 2 more wins to end the season. Regardless, the season itself just felt like a premonition of where we could go.

I think 05 is a good comparison. I personally had hoped that last year would be where you could start to see it- similar to 04, but that didn't happen.
Going into this year- I still had no idea if we would win 2 or 6 games. The fact we have won 6 already and most in convincing fashion and even the two loses- we were not embarrassed.
Who knows what the last 4 bring but when was the last time you could look at OSU/PSU/Iowa/Maryland and think, we could win 2 of these.

It will get truly positive when "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" threads start popping up here like back in the Schiano 1.0 days.

This does feel like the 2005 season.

Well- both VaTech and NW are both 4-4 with a chance at a bowl. Both would be 5-3 if we were not good enough to beat them...just saying

Best answer to anyone that says that- is "who did we lose to?" We shouldn't be ashamed to lose to the 2 current division leaders and beat everyone else.

Indy gave PSU a scare (but winners win). NW beat UMD (losers lose).

Thrilled with 6 wins. Based on scores can see 2-3 more.

Hoping RU can get over the hump vs Iowa. Start beating a team we’ve never beaten before (Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minny). Whenever we say the game is winnable, RU comes up short.

Kind of feels like a 2004/2005 type vibe, so hoping for a surprise win vs Iowa or PSU.

He has hated Schiano from 1.0 and will never admit he was wrong. Twice.
greg is average, he's our marty schottenheimer
Flood did better with the same kids.
greg will never get us over the hump and I think most recognize that

the problem with you and many others is that you lionize him. you guys have an unhealthy love of the man akin to psu with paterno. you guys are cult like

haha, will meet you anytime in the yellow or blue lot. anytime
When I read the response to this I thought you should get red-flagged soon.. come for your guns... but, tracking back, I see the "internet tough guy" accusation was not very smart.

You said you are a pitbull FOR RUTGERS.. not that you were some tough guy pitbull ready to fight.

Reading comprehension issue by that poster. You could have handled it differently.. but the whole thing is on him.

BTW.. anyone remember the two posters from years ago who were supposed to meet in.. the Yellow Lot.. to fight before a game? That was a hilarious non-event iirc.

On the way up on the Sea Streak to the Army game today displaying my "R" hat proudly, all people could talk about was Rutgers sudden relevance and Michigan's cheating.
