It is obvious watching these games today that our receivers are a liability...

I said that after the Auburn game. It seems like our players lack fundamentals. I watched the Bama vs aTm game before watching us. It was amazing to watch their receivers fight off coverage, keep the play alive, then come back to the ball to make the catch. Our receivers run vanilla routes and if they don't get open, they give up on the play.

Maybe there is a reason they were running wide open. They are big and fast, and can catch. I will also say that Murray and Mettenberger had enough time to look at 2nd receivers most of the game; and they can flat out throw.

I'm no expert, but the poor fundamentals might have something to do with our typically raw Mississippi receiver recruits coming in and having three different position coaches over their careers thus far, including a graduate assistant during our starters' freshman or redshirt freshman seasons.

Just catch the damn ball. That is what gets me is how damn automatic it is for every other team's receivers to catch the ball. It's like we recruit volleyball players for receivers.
