I guess being a State fan has the benefit of conditioning the heart and strengthening over time. If other fan bases are having heart attacks over Grantham, they dang sure couldn’t endure what the State fans have endured. In the grand scheme of things, Grantham was a blip on our misery radar.
One might lose a limb while pulling for state, but unlikely that one dies of a heart attack. And even the resulting prosthetic can be bartered to cover the cost of a trip to the CWS.
The same guy got arrested at the 1986 Georgia-Auburn game for angrily running down and getting in the face of an Auburn employee when they turned the sprinklers on to try and get Georgia fans off their field after the game. There was an ESPN article on that game recently. Pretty interesting read.
