It's as I feared....I'm afraid we've got ourselves another Steve Newton situation.

As I posted earlier, all the cheap shots in the world won’t change the situation. Anyonewho expects much this year is not being realistic. Martin’s leaving depleted the roster. The player fall out, aided or abbeted by Martin ???, spelled diaster for his successor. It is what it is. We are not very good and SEC play will be brutal. I just don’t see that anything will be gained by constant belittlement, Rod.

Newton looked and talked like that Baptist preacher you invite over to Sunday dinner and, while he never stops talking, he somehow manages to eat up all the good pieces of chicken. I don't get that vibe off of Paris. I say give him some time.

lol, for real. You mean it might take more than 5 games?? Ugly start? Yeah. But it's 5 games. Kind of absurd it even has to be said at this point, but, yeah, more time.
When people invoke the name "Newton" this soon, you already know those people need that admonition.

Nothing burns more than watching someone else pick up the very piece of chicken you had your eye on.

Whatever I thought I saw the first couple of games has disappeared or I was dreaming when I fell asleep watching the game.

2-3. I would argue not a bad start particularly when one was a win against Clemson. This is about what I expected although I was hoping for better. This is a 3 year project. 5 years w/o the portal.

This year was going to be bad. I get the excuses get old, but in this case, it’s legit. Paris landed the highest ranked recruit in our history in his first year. That alone should cause us to be patient, even if he did fall into our lap a bit. Paris still should get a ton of credit for landing him after a short period of getting to know him.

We’ll improve. I think players will want to play for Paris. Some of our freshmen should develop into solid player in the next couple of seasons. We just need to keep bringing in a key player or two each year.

I would’ve hired Richey from Furman, but I like Paris so far. I’d like to win more games this year, but it wasn’t going to happen. I don’t think Paris is guaranteed success here…but maybe he can keep some players in state that we haven’t in the past.

Every damn year…”the previous coach left the cupboard bare..”

sick of this cyclical BS
You can be sick of it all you want, but it's just a fact this year. This team isn't good and everyone knew it. Acting like the sky is falling after every loss is going to be a bit overkill, because this team is going to lose a lot of games.

Pat Kelsey at College of Charleston is the hot coach now....Just won the tournament in Charleston....Beat Va Tech.....Having the best mid major recruiting class in the county. He's headed for bigger and better things...Hope he doesn't head to Clemson.

Tillman is truly a place where sustained success simply cannot happen. The university, athletic dept., fanbase, etc. won't put enough emphasis on it. Good seasons every now & then is the best that will ever happen there. EVER.

Greatest player I’ve ever watched start to finish……..not to mention 3 great incidents @ Fulton county stadium.

He's going somewhere and I believe Clemson will be open.Perhaps he thinks its not the opportunity he's looking for,but the lure of the ACC is strong and all these coaches think they're the one to turn it around. Then again Clemson may have someone else in mind.Richey?

Told someone we would be lucky to win 10 games this year ... not his fault but we need some good (for us) recruits ... desperately ... life is good - Peace!

The good thing about BB is that you can turn things around with 2 or 3 good players coming in. One good recruiting class can make a big difference. It isn't like football where you need 30 good players to really win.

How can teams like Furman, Davidson and Wofford seem to find good 3 point shooters and we can't? This goes back a long time.
I don't think Martin recruited shooters, he seemed to recruit athletes that he could turn into defensive players. That question was asked throughout his tenure.
