Starts with pitching....
we are starting almost every batter off 2-0 and they are starting almost every batter off 1-2. That is how you win ball games right there.

Bunts are as much a part of the game as home runs. We can't figure that out. It was fun while it lasted.Hopefully they will just show tits the rest of the game.

Only having 1 real starting pitcher finally caught up with us. It's amazing we have made it as far as we have with just one starting pitcher who has pitched more than 3 innings in a game in the postseason. But the pitch the bullpen the entire game only goes so far, because the bullpen isn't going to be lights out every single time. You've got to have starting pitchers who can take you deep into games. UCLA has that PLUS an outstanding bullpen. We have just the bullpen plus Graveman.
There's little to no explanation as to how this team got this far...
We just don't have all the pieces. Yet, we made it to the finals.
Cohen seems to get the most out of his team in the postseason... Game's not over yet, but to have gotten this far with this team and it's gaping holes has been fun to watch. Hope we can somehow pull it out (/she said).

I was amazed our bullpen pitched as well as it did.
If you had told me that Ross Mitchell and Girodo would end up being as dominant as they were in extended long relief rolls and that we would make it to the CWS finals with that blueprint, I would have laughed in your face. We have one reliable starting pitcher after two of our best went down with injury and got benched, our starting and most experienced catcher isn't even playing, and we've been suspect defensively in the playoffs.
But we were able to pitch well enough and get enough clutch hits to get to this point even with all of those things against us. Not sure how good we will be next year losing so many valuable pieces, but I'm interested to see how the remaining players grow from all of the experience they got during these playoffs.
