when you are making more money and going to better bowl games. He goes there and he is going to an Orange Bowl every couple years. The odds of him taking us to a BCS bowl, 10,000:1-ish. The odds of him taking Miami to one 5:1<div>
</div><div>
</div><div>Seems like you can't call this a downgrade. Sure, the ACC is weaker but when you are going to BCS bowls who cares what conference you are in.</div>

..Here's your "downgrade"...

<span class="mw-headline" id="National_championships">Miami National championships</span><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" width="65%" border="1"><tbody><tr><th bgcolor="#223732"><font color="white">Year</font></th><th bgcolor="#223732"><font color="white">Coach</font></th><th bgcolor="#223732"><font color="white">Selector</font></th><th bgcolor="#223732"><font color="white">Record</font></th><th bgcolor="#223732"><font color="white">Bowl</font></th></tr><tr align="middle"><td><font color="#0645ad">1983</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">Howard Schnellenberger</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">AP</font>, <font color="#0645ad">Coaches</font></td><td>11-1</td><td>Won <font color="#0645ad">Orange</font></td></tr><tr align="middle"><td><font color="#0645ad">1987</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">Jimmy Johnson</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">AP</font>, <font color="#0645ad">Coaches</font></td><td>12-0</td><td>Won <font color="#0645ad">Orange</font></td></tr><tr align="middle"><td><font color="#0645ad">1989</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">Dennis Erickson</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">AP</font>, <font color="#0645ad">Coaches</font></td><td>11-1</td><td>Won <font color="#0645ad">Sugar</font></td></tr><tr align="middle"><td><font color="#0645ad">1991</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">Dennis Erickson</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">AP</font>†</td><td>12-0</td><td>Won <font color="#ba0000">Orange</font></td></tr><tr align="middle"><td><font color="#0645ad">2001</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">Larry Coker</font></td><td><font color="#0645ad">BCS</font>, <font color="#0645ad">AP</font>, <font color="#0645ad">Coaches</font></td><td>12-0</td><td>Won <font color="#0645ad">Rose</font></td></tr><tr align="middle"><td bgcolor="#ff7f00" colspan="5">Total national championships – 5</td></tr><tr><td colspan="5">† Washington won the 1991 <font color="#0645ad">Coaches Poll</font>, Miami won the AP poll; and the two teams were unable to meet for a decisive national title game because the bowl procedures for that time automatically placed the Pac-10 and Big 10 champions in the <font color="#0645ad">Rose Bowl</font>, so Miami could not play opposite the Huskies (who instead played and soundly defeated Michigan) and instead went to the Orange Bowl where they defeated Nebraska.</td></tr></tbody></table>
If Dan Mullen goes to Miami, you can add his name to this list for 2013.

That's why Miami is probably an attractive offer to Mullen.
