pumped about. In an interview with someone, Freeze says he would go for it every time on fourth and an inch WITH THE STATE THAT THEIR PROGRAM IS IN. Now nafoom and surely the spirit is pumped about bucky. I don't really know what to make of the fact that he threw in the part about the state of their program. Sounds like it may be a few years before recruits can expect to win. Hmmm

I think Freeze is working WAY too hard to defend his decision. He's stated he would go for it every time but then he also states that he made the decision not to go under center and sneak because he was afraid A&M would stuff that with their "Bear" defense. YET he felt fine with sitting in the shotgun 5 yards deep in the backfield running a zone read play. What kind of possible logical sense does that make? Seriously, if he really didn't think his team could make an inch by sneaking right behind the OL at the snap then he was true idiot for going for it at all and should have definitely punted.

He made a stupid decision and they know it.....

....too bad they've still got the newness and delusion to help them forget it. That was Orgeronian, the first of many most likely. We ignored that type of thing during Croom's first year too.

Good thing too, but I was starting to think Freeze was a good coach. Actually I was already thinking he was based on his work at Lambuth and Arkansas State.

Freeze has been saying this since he's been hired.

In an interview with someone, Freeze says he would go for it every time on fourth and an inch WITH THE STATE THAT THEIR PROGRAM IS IN.
If the bears suck the fan base expects it and blames Nutt. If they surprise a few teams then Freeze is a miracle worker and gets the credit. Freeze has put himself in a win/win situation...well...until he inserted himself into the A&M game. Nobody deserves it more than he does.

"Nobody deserves it more than he does"? What does that mean?

Freeze rationalized the playcall by saying that they had run that play 4 times and Scott reeled of at least 10 yards each time.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

What he basically said was he knew his defence wouldn't stop them even if he punted. I'd have punted anyway. If you HAD to go, don't line up in the shotgun.

Well, then Freeze is officially the dumbest coach in history. Because, you know, running that play aGAINst a four man front and a cover two secondary will yield exactly the same results as running it aGAINst a goal line or short yardage defensive set.

That sounds more like ignorant Black Bear rationalizations to me. It has all the trademarks of a typical Ole Miss fan...pitiful excuses, stunning lack of football knowledge, and defense of a coach in over his head.

It means that he can't tell us preseason how terrible Ole Miss is gonna be, then watch his players bust their *** all night and have the game a game in hand that they were double digit underdogs in, then decide to step in and lose the game for em. Good gosh..in his post game he referenced needing a few more breaks??? SIX TURNOVERS HUGH!! SIX A&M TURNOVERS!! The players did not deserve to lose that game. Freeze, however, did.

Were any of the other 4 times Scott's 6th straight carry? Were any of them against a 9-man front?
