I read articles on Ole Miss on websites and don't feel the need to post in the comments. It was an article about Mullen.. read it and move on.. Like any of us think he's a more proven coach than Nutt right now.

I would hate for us to have opinions of our own. I know people generalize a lot when talking about fanbases, but do you really think all ole miss fans that read that article are trying to come up with some comment about one coach or the other? I personnally didnt even concider putting a comment about either coach (or any other comment for that matter). Yes that guy is sad and maybe a little too overly happy with Nutt right now, but he definitely doesnt make all Ole Miss fans stupid.

"Nobody has higher expectations than I do. Nobody wants to win more than I do. No one will work harder than I will. … When you come in, you don't look at the schedule [and] say, 'We're going to lose those games.' You look at it and say, 'We've got to find a way to win.'"

Every article about Mullen has been great,

I did think it was funny saying that he could rattle off a paragraph before a state alum could clear his throat.

kind of Don Imus'y to southerners eh?

Came from Pete Carroll a few years ago, and he at least gave somebody else credit for it. LINKY

So, maybe when he and Dan are sitting on the couch together they memorize Pete Carroll quotes.

Demps, Rainey, Harvin, and the defense than some speech... I was never one for all the rah, rah ********. It's easier to say all that stuff when you've got ability and those caliber of athletes backing you up. If Tyson Lee gave that same speech, you think we woulda rallied for a bowl appearance? I doubt it.

He was talking about the difference that players make. Something like "If there was such thing as 'the best offense' everyone would be running it, and if there was such thing as 'the best defense' everyone would run it...In the end, it's the players and their commitment that make the difference."

that you and the entire fanbase of the Dawg Nation would not forever after refer to it as "The Crybaby Speech."

You guys are the one's who originated the term "Croomed" on the demise of a Florida coach. We have organized sports to vicariously live through the achievements of others and marginalize our own failures by deriding the slight missteps of others.

Do I think that Tebow is a crybaby? Not usually, but that day he was.

Do I respect Tebow despite my attempts to make fun of him? Of course I do... seems like a decent young man.

Do I come here to irritate everyone? Not usually, I generally mind my manners, but I takes my shot when I gets them.

Do I really give a rat's *** what you think? Nope and you are more than welcome not to give a rat's *** about me.

and also realizes it's possible.</p>

That much is true. When you are going to play 3 should win OOC games per season, 12 games per season total, and all it takes is 6 to get to a bowl, then it's possible to "win" or at least get to a bowl immediately in most cases. You just may need to be prepared to tweak your system to try to get that 6 win mark early on.

I always think poorly of coaches who come in expecting to run a system even if it sacrifices wins up front. If you're willing to adjust and do what it takes to win what you can with what you've got, then you'll do fine. For all he's saying, it sounds like that's what Mullen plans to do. Now we'll just see if he can do it. It's easy to say those types of things, but it's much harder to really tweak your system to fit your players. Like I said though, he's passed Step 1 in showing that he at least understands the idea of changing your system to fit your personnel. Croom never even got to Step 1 with his West Coast business.

who said he knew Maine was better on paper or whatever dumb shat he spouted after the loss. Mullen is a breath of fresh air.

Maine was absolutely ridiculous. I'm glad we have a coach who will expect to find ways to win or at least tell us that he will find ways to win

......who expects to win and won't make excuses for the next few years. The fans have to do their part too. I'm already seeing people willing to give him 4+ years to "turn things around." Wha?????

I think it will take two seasons max to "turn us around". I think is we get the recruits that we expect, I think that we will be a lot better than people think next year. As I've said before, we were a kicker away from a rematch with La Tech in the Indy Bowl. It's not like we were getting blown out every game like in 2003. And when I say that we were a kicker away, that's not even including the La Tech game which we should have won as well.

Next year I think we are going to blow Jackson State out and then we go to Auburn, and if we can pull off a win there- and I think we have a chance to do that- hold onto your hat.

......run. Of course that means they'll be SEC champs too. What a turnaround to go from 4 straight losing seasons to the best team in the SEC and the country in just two years under a new coach.

"You can imagine the culture clash for a New Hampshire product who moves to Mississippi. Mullen can rattle off a paragraph in the time it takes a Bulldogs alum to clear his throat. "
