I've been watching MSU baseball since 1979

and I have never seen an MSU team that had as much heart as this team does. They just fight through adversity & produce in the clutch.

I have no idea what it was like to watch Clark and Palmeiro from the perspective of not ever knowing them as MLB All-Stars, but I feel confident that a couple of these guys on the team will be in the majors soon. It would be cool to get a Clark-Palmeiro type photo with Renfroe and Frazier. They mean a lot to the rebirth of this program.

Girodo, Mitchell and Holder need a photo too. The bullpen has been the biggest reason we are here.

I remember watching them when they were here but I like this group better. This is a TEAM and not a collection of ego driven prima donnas. That team back then had five times the talent of this team but this group has set the ego aside and are playing for each other instead of for themselves. That is why they are on the cusp of greatness right now.

Don't forget about Henderson's AB

He battled and hung in there getting a huge hit to precede Porter's big hit.

Agree, this is a team and the best part

Is they are loose, confident, and dangerous. The beards remain intact.

I agree. If anyone needs proof you can see Porter's post game interview where he gave 100% of the credit to the bench, and when the reporter kept digging and brought up him only having 19 AB he genuinely seemed happy to sit on the bench if we were winning as a team.

But I do think individual players deserve recognition too. They all had options to go other places but came to MSU when we weren't worth a damn thing.

Should be noted that every single contributor today outside of Detz, Pirtle, and Armstrong actually signed with and came to an MSU program that was divided and in the crapper -- for a coach that most of the players on the team at the time hated and didn't want to play for.

Only the freshman "class" actually signed after the little Super Regional run in Florida that began to signify that things had turned around. People need to realize that. These guys sure didn't walk into the same situation they will leave us with, that's for damn sure...
