Going to Gator Bowl - so that makes this sports related. Two years ago my wife and I enjoyed the Coastal Kitchen in St. Simons on NYE and Chart House in Jacksonville after the game. Do any of you want to make any recommendations for the land locked who plan to gorge on seafood while in Jacksonville?

And please, no smart axx remarks about going to the Visitor's Bureau or Trip Advisor. I've done that. I would like to hear some personal experiences.

Fresh seafood is easy to find where I live, so we did not make it a priority on the last trip. But I will mention where I did eat.

Bisto AIX. http://www.bistrox.com Americanized French cuisine. Great food, and good atmosphere. I had a filet, which was top quality. We actually had New Year's Eve dinner there, so I think the menu was more limited than on a typical night.

Hit a Butler Boulevard Waffle House up a 3 a.m on New Years Day. Avoid doing this at all cost.

We stayed about 10 minutes south of downtown in Deerwood Park. We were exausted after the ballgame, so we at close by. There was place close by called Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery. http://www.7bridgesgrille.com/ It is a local microbrewery. I will admit that it has a little bit of a chain feel to it, but the beer and food are both good. They have an american IPA that is aged in bourbon barrels that I really like. I do not remember the name though.

Only seafood we had was on a drive out to Jacksonville Beach. A place called Sliders. All I had was the raw oysters and a few beers, so I do not have much advice good. They were good though.

Enjoy!
