I know it doesn't really matter how long since he is injured (and from what I heard sitting out this year) but it must have been some issue off the court. I remember watching the Arky game and he was always the first one off the bench to meet the team, he seemed like a good team guy. Anyways he sure did look a lot like Smoot.

I bet its class attendance. This guy always seems into the games and is the first one off the bench and such. Transferring over from Juco where they probably had no attendance policy, he probably thought he could get away with it. I'll be surprised if he transfers.

Holcombe did something that WARRANTED the suspension.

Tell me again how that is Stans fault.

He's suspended, but it is still on the team. Ath. Dept keeping a tight lid on it, apparently.

****, Stans, stop running the whole damn team off every year. Is it really that much to ask?
Suspending someone for breaking the rules is the same as running them off? maybe Stans should let these guys do whatever they wont as long as they promise to stick around

If these morons can't do what Stans asks them to do- like go to class, come to practice, play defense and rebound, or accept the fact that they are not the next Kobe and are in reality an average college baseketball player, good riddance.

If Stans let those guys stay, and they caused problems, then I would say he is losing control of the team.

Even if Holcomb is kicked off, what did we really lose? I like Holcomb and hope he comes back but Stans could probably use the scholly to go get us a big man next year.

My one concern would be the hit to our APR. We have to be perilously close to losing a scholarship due to the constant transfers. I'm assuming JUCO transfers that don't graduate affect us the same as high school kids.

I thought I read that we'd decided to go ahead and preemptively take a scholarship away this year to restart the clock on the APR (essentially take our punishment a year before we would have had to anyway).

Because we all know that teenage kids never make stupid mistakes and <17> themselves over...it's the coach, every time.

I seem to remember something about us doing that. I was really asking a question more than saying that we are taking our punishment a year early.

didnt we have a thread a while back talking of how we were going for medical redshirt and like you say, wouldnt play this year anyway?

on a side note, he was quickly becoming and emotional leader of the team. I hope he didnt do anything too bad.

As for whoever said he'd transfer? after transferring already and then to do it again to have 1 yr of eligibility left?

....but some of the blame does lie with the coach. Great coaches make players want to do the right thing and play hard for the coach. For whatever reason, we have had trouble with that with Stansbury. Sometimes, a coach has done all he can do, but with Rick, there's a disturbing trend of insubordination and discontent. It's one thing if there is the occasional Walter Sharpe, but we have one to two players every year that become dissatisfied with things and leave the program or are not motivated enough to take care of business and stay on the court.

Coaches get credit for "graduating players," so they should also share in the blame when something goes wrong with a player.

The 'good riddance' argument gets you nowhere.

Someone on GP claiming that Twanny kinda started some stuff with Holcombe, and Holcombe kinda whipped his ***.
