He was so promising his freshman year.
I am convinced that he never recovered from the injury in the spring game of his sophomore season. His lack of production after a great freshman year is a mystery otherwise.
That has to be it. Dude was an absolute beast as a FR but never looked the same after.
I remember watching him play when he was at d'Iberville. They came to Picayune his senior season in the fall of 2019.
He was a stud! I remember that UGA game in 2020 when we barely had enough players and we almost beat them!
He got screwed, he was evaluated for that injury and was told he should be good to go and it progressed worse and worse. Lost a lot of his speed and got passed over on the depth chart. Top 10 in career receptions at State all time and only had 5 total catches his last two seasons.
He's a great example of "what could have been if not for injuries." Felt so bad for him his last couple of seasons.
He had a 4-5 game stretch his freshman year where I thought this dude is going to be the best WR we’ve had since Moulds.
He had a down but still ok sophomore year but it felt like Polk supplanted him as the go-to guy that year. And then his production just cratered after that unfortunately. I really hate that injuries ruined his chances of having a really excellent career.
