Given that Ben was raised in Storm Lake I would think that would immediately create a bit of a bond.

Has anyone seen him play? I don't know much about him and I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what he does well and what he needs to improve on
I wonder if a sweet 16 season compared to a losing season also has come into play?

Can he guard 6'11" post players and present mismatches for said 6'11" post players?.........I just saw this as well. From all I've heard this is a great recruit that BM would like to get so fingers crossed!
Just watched his highlights....athletic AF and definitely better than the 225th best player-which is what he's rated on On3

He's a dunking fool, I can tell you that for certain. Storm Lake had a couple other 6'8" lanky guys the last couple of years, and they didn't do the stuff Coon did. Rim Rocker.
He has to become a better shooter. He shot around 30% from 3 and under 65% from the FT line.
He has grown taller and broader over the last year. Really has grown into a forward vs shooting guard
. Wonder if that affected his shooting with that extra muscle?

Coon would be a nice addition but we need a pg and rim- protector.
I saw him play a state tournament game a couple of weeks ago and he certainly looks the part of a D1 athlete. He looked like a man amongst boys and was smooth as a ball handler and shot well.
Note, I am not a BB scout by any means. I did feel like he was allowed to get away with some fouls/overly aggressive plays. I watched 4+ games that day and he was definitely the most memorable player that I saw that day.

We have 3 seniors leaving, with a possibility of Banks returning, and one guy, Harris, already on board.
If Banks returns do we want to use the only available scholarship on another SF?
Seems like a PG is a must and an established big in the portal would be the next top priority.

True solid until this year, They struggled this year and will be challenged next year unless the new guy can portal.As others have mentioned he might have gotten involved too late, and Omaha is quite a bit closer to home than Iowa City. Besides Creighton has been pretty solid in hoops for awhile.
You can't walk to Kinnick from your dorm at Creighton though.

Obviously they weren't good this year, but don't know much about their roster. I tuned in occasionally to see how Josh Dix was playing. I feel he would have stayed at Iowa had it not been for the unfortunate health situation of his now deceased Mother. That's a tough one for that family for sure. He just always came across as a great kid, not the type to chase money in my opinion.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Surely someone will leave. Maybe Matteoni will move on. Who knows.
Take as many good players as you can and worry about it later.
