“My feet speaks for itself and you got to have the footwork at left
tackle because it’s just you and the end out there, that’s why they get
paid so much money,” Carmon said. “I feel like I’m going to take this
position over and play it for a long time in the NFL.”

He played DL at Perk. Steve Campbell was/is a great OL coach and thought it better to keep him at DL.

He played OL in high school though. We shall see.

I hope this isn't a move out ofdesperation.<div>
</div><div>Either:</div><div>1) We feel really bad about our tackles for next year.
2) We felt really good about our tackles last year and we didn't need him there.

So, unfortunately, I think it's number 1. I kind of figured that they would flip Addison Lawrence over to LT, and hopefully he would do a decent job, and then start a JUCO or a RS freshman at RT.

If you look at our roster, o-line was an area that the previous staff kind of neglected. As a result, we have a gap between the four horsemen era guys- Sherrod, Addison Lawrence, and Saulsberry, and the guys that Dan has brought in. In these last two classes, Dan has essentially brought in two o-lines. Problem is, Dan's guys are still young. This is why we're starting a RS freshman guard and a RS So. at the other guard spot. And then there's Templeton Hardy who is a career back-up in all likelihood.

In our next class that is coming up next year, we're going to have to find 1-2 JUCO o-linemen just to give us some maturity and experience.

I still wouldn't be shocked if Damien Robinson is starting at a tackle position- either LT or RT, but of course he is only a RS freshman next year. That's why we're looking at guys like Carmon.

Won't be as good as Sherrod but Carmon has a massive body with good feet he could pretty solid.... Hear Muniz is an animal, injured now I think tore up his shoulder. Say he could be the future left tackle with Robinson moving to Guard. Muniz needs another year before they're comfortable with him out there. Carmon moves makes sense seeing a JUCO route didn't work out.
