That big bastard is quick as a cat. There is just no way we get that guy, but if we did, he would probably start at RT as a freshman.

That is a cant miss prospect.

Man, that would be a sweet commit. In his interview he seemed to be sexin' up Florida pretty good though.

Damn you Corch Urban Meyers and your damn Percy Harvey!</p>

I really, really, really hope we could land him. He'd give us some much needed, immediate impact at that spot, I think.

would be an amazing pull by Mullen and Co. if he makes his home in Starkvegas.

Well.... his brother is a freshman at State this year. I would think State should have about a 90% chance to sign him, regardless of who the coach is.

haven't followed our history of recruiting current/former player's siblings. Based on past results I'd say there is a 90% chance we DON'T sign him.

Our downward spiral of never landing players that have a connection to the program will continue with Hurst. I hate it, but he seems to be ga ga over Florida.

...who played OT at Alabama is going to talk to Jim Hurst, James' Dad. He says it makes no sense for James Hurst to go somewhere else, because it both makes it a lot easier on parents to see their sons play, plus Mullen is building a great program here and needs excellent offensive linemen. Gary played with Jim Hurst at Alabama.

was that croom was our coach, and his dad's relationship with croom supposedly had a lot to do with nelson coming to starkville. so, without croom, we lose that edge.

of course, now we have a coach that will actually recruit and has injected some enthusiasm into the team and program and may actually be a decent coach, so we have that going for us.

His intelligence compared to MOST linemen is baffling.

That last clip at the end of the video where he's one on one shows everything

We were successful with the sherrods

It has less to do with them being brothers and more to do with how highly recruited the younger brother is. Alonzo Lawrence, James Hurst, Chris Mcneils brother if I'm not mistaken (???), all were more highly recruited by bigger schools. I really think that two things could prove effective in the recruitment of James Hurst: 1) How much easier it will be on his parents getting to watch both of their boys play together (2) He REALLY is the type of player that can help turn a program into a contender. That's not recruiting talk, thats fact.
