The whole Sharpe thing left me jaded and a top 5 lottery picks coming back from ACL surgery worries me on how much he will want to push, play for the name on the front and try to win a title. I mean he did go to ASU.

There's no question of his talent, Kids out there at 16 looking like a beast. Could be the one to get us back to the promise land if body heals and mind and heart are there.

Lots of concerns here, but you got to risk it if you want that biscut. So F it!!!

Anyone know if there's more of a risk of him not being what he was because of the injury occurring so young? Does that matter, when you're so big and definitely still growing at 17 the ACL surgery and recovery?

I respect your opinion but disagree. I don’t think he has anything special. He doesn’t do anything well. He can’t shoot, pass or dribble. He can’t rebound, can’t really defend the rim, really nothing. I hate to say that about a player but I just don’t see much but a big body.
He’s actually a pretty good defender man on man

I'm just excited about his 7'5" wingspan and MOs 7'3" wingspan. Imagine them out there together. Around the rim prediction...

I would say there is more risk of him protecting his draft stock and quietly opting out, then actually playing and not being as good as he was before. I'm jaded, too. Will be interesting to see how Pope deals with the kid and his father, in light of how Cal was dealing with draft picks.

Agreed. With Sharpe it stold a spot. If it happened with JQ it's not only a spot in a crucial Pope 2nd year but a bag of money.

I have to hope his NIL is tied to games played. I've went through all the emotions today. Jaded first, oh **** Sharpe2.0 now I'm at F it we gonna get 9 with this beast😁

Life of a Kentucky fan.

He was committed to KY when Cal was here. Now, he's committed to KY, but Pope is here.

He seems slightly more motivated to play ball for UK than the average prospect.

Pope was here last season, and the kid wasn't committed. The ACL injury/surgery is the key here.

It's not negativity, dear. It's being realistic. I'm sure you recall what happened under Cal. There's always the Forgetful Joe hat for you.

Just my opinion....but I believe Coach Pope looks to build a team in several different ways. Confident he doesn't mind the money being paid, but wants players who are after more than money. Wants competitors. Good teammates. Self sacrificing teammates. Players looking to chase titles and championships.

I am not directing this toward this particular player above. Just a general thought.
