Some say it's the best since they can remember, some say it's the worst. Probably depends on your answer to the Colorado thread earlier... I know I'm pretty excited about it.

Must see if you attend...

If you go, be sure and see the Infamous Stringdusters. Saw them a Bonnaroo a couple of years ago. Fun show.

Hard for me to call them the E Street band without the big man

But still awesome. I saw them on their reunion tour when Weinberg and the Sopranos guy came back, 2002 or so? Fantastic. 3+ hours with no break.

As a regular Jazz Fest attendee, I'd give it a solid A-

The Boss is probably my only Must See act (in an A+ year there's 3 or 4 Must Sees) but there are quite a few other bands that I want to check out.

My only disappointment, especially in light of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks leaving at the end of 2014, is that the Allman Brothers aren't playing this year.

After I saw Clapton, Plant and Public Enemy I was sold. As long as it's not close to Bayoi Superfest I'm going.

Clapton
Springsteen & E Street
Phish
Santana
Arcade Fire
Cheese
Vampire Weekend
Alabama Shakes
NOMS Allstars
KEB MO

That is an incredibly strong and diverse 10 groups.

If anyone likes stripped down blues/Delta blues- Keb Mo is a fantastic listen. His albums have everything from Robert Johnson covers to contemporary blues to acoustic blues to some just damn feel good uplifting gospel style beats.

I saw them in Greensboro a few years ago when I was living up that way. Bruce is a machine. He puts more into his live shows than anyone else I've ever seen. Max Weinberg and his son alternated songs on the drums, but Bruce went over three hours with a short ten or fifteen minute break.

Just drove to Greensboro and back for the holidays

19.5 hours each way. I grew up there, and my folks still live there. That's another example of a dead downtown that has been revived. And about the same size as Jackson. New baseball stadium downtown helped too.

dont think I'll be driving again soon, but it worked out since I was gone a long time, and I stopped in Nashville for a couple nights for the bowl game.

There a few bands

I'd love to see. Do yourself a favor and go watch Santana. The guy is a living legend. I saw him at BSMF. Not sure why they wait so long to release their lineup.

Not sure how Avett Brothers got left off your list...

The Avett Brothers were awesome at Bulldog Bash several years ago. Also The Head and the Heart is very good.

Not getting Outkast is a huge fail...

Arguably the greatest hip-hop group ever, back on tour after a lengthy hiatus, hitting up over 40 festivals this spring/summer... but Jazzfest can't swing it? Come on...

I guess I'll have to settle for a decent yet overrated jam band and two legends who can still crank it, even though they're clearly past their prime. Could be worse. Congrats to all the Robin Thicke and Christina Aguilera fans. You guys are what Jazzfest is all about.

The food will be good. Being out there and bouncing around is always fun.

Outkast = terrible

Pretty good jam band lineup with Phish, NMAS, String Cheese.
Keep the old folks happy with Bruce, Fogerty, Santana (was awesome a few years back), Clapton (Definitely wont miss).
Interested in seeing the Shakes, Arcade Fire.
Not sure about Plant and the Space Shifters.

Don't give two ***** about Thicke, Fat ***, Foster the People

Will destroy some Crawfish Strudel (still have some in my freezer that I had shipped to Houston), some crawfish enchiladas, crawfish beignets, crawfish monica, cracklins, and anything else dawgstudent drops on the ground.

Pretty underwhelming

I really dislike Springsteen. Would love to see Clapton though.

Well, this tells me a lot about the level of the performers.... the Imagination Movers will be playing there.

I have no idea what you are looking for in a rap/r&b act that cannot be found in outkast. What the hell do you consider to be the ingredients for a quality rap duo?

It's all about ze pheesh from Vermont making their triumphant return. 18 years to the day, on top of their game, sober, and just about to release their 14th album after 30 years on the road. Don't give me the hippie crap. These guys are rock stars and only Santana and Clapton come close to their résumé.

Avett brothers needing to be on that list of top 10 is hilarious. Keb Mo is the man. Best Jazz fest in over a decade. Can't wait for the late nights and collaborations to ensue.

/end rant

Note: I'm from the Mississippi Delta and my music taste is better than yours. Go dawgs. Period.

What, no love for Bobby Womack? The lineup seems pretty diverse. A sentence you will never hear while you're there: "I sure hope Robin Thicke and The String Cheese Incident aren't playing at the same time."

It looks way better than the lineup for this one:

(moderately amusing picture might not actually show up?)

Damn, no Sugarland? After that rousing performance @ Davis Wade you would think they would be back in the South by popular demand............

Not going to be there. Wife is expecting. But don't miss Charles Bradley or Gregory Porter. Just don't.
