I agree with the other poster - to even imply that Jeff Scott is in the same ballpark as Perkins is ludicrous. WOW!

Sorry, I just figured since the quote was out there he had told it to someone outside of a teammate

but I never did see it. Regardless - I hope Jeff Scott enjoys getting a college loan.

Jax State, Tulane, nor UL-Lay? Or do those teams have such a dominating D that your boy couldn't break out? Or did your superstar not get a chance to play against them because Nutty Buddy didn't want to risk having him get hurt?

JeffScottis better than Perkins.Never mindhe had worse stats, touched the ball less, is slower and nobody outside of Lafayette county knows who he is. Man I was way off.<div>
</div><div>I'mwaiting for the thread where youcompareMackey and Relf. Could you be any farther removed from reality? Jeff Scott played against plenty of bad defenses last year yet still had worse stats. I guess here is where you tell me Jacksonville State had aironcurtain for a defense.

Live inside your little box. Ask an Auburn or LSU fan who is better between Scott and Perkins. The fact that you think Scott is slower than Perkins proves your ignorance

-i would take perkins over scott due to proven recieving ability
-scott isnt a 3rd stringer, he's better than enrique davis and started 1 game pissing bolden off
-my vote for homeless man getting the scholly is rebel jacob, no way his crazy *** has a house

But Perkins is MUCH more physical. From what I saw of Scott last year, I like him as a situational player. I like Perkins as an every down player. I certainly hope that Ballard doesn't go down this year, but if he does I'm plenty happy with Perkins taking over as our #1 RB. If I'm a UM fan and Bolden goes down, I'm pretty scared to have Scott as my starter.

was that he doesn'tplan to ever lose to TSUN and he hopes he never has to. That's a lot different than saying he will never lose to them.

omitting the receiving stats when you compared the two backs is a lot different than
I forgot that if I don't say everything Ole Miss sucks and everything MSU is the best EVER I get **** on.

apparently I didn't suck Perkins's penis enough.
I like both of them too. But asking you to tell the whole story when you compare them isn't asking you to suck Perkins's penis. No matter how much you'd like to. The fact is, based on what we've seen so far, Perkins is the better back. And it's not even close.

Well Jeff didn't tell the media he promises to beat state either. Jeff did say he promises we will beat state on FB. And Mullen promised state would never lose to OM in an after game speech to his team. Once again hyprocatic ******** spewed by you guys. It's ok for a coach to promise he'll never lose to a team, but not ok for a player to promise he will beat his instate rival this year

Yes that is a little different than what a coach tells his team in a locker room after a game. D you not agree?

I love what Perkins brings to our team but I do think some of our fans have blown it out of proportion. I am still not sold on how good of a #1 back he would be. He didn't move the pile very well last year and his explosive plays were primarily passing plays and against poor competition. He may live up to the hype this year but he still has a lot to prove.

I'm trying to see your point, but I just don't. The only people who should see his Facebook are OM fans and his friends. I know Mullen didn't make a video that included that speech, but someone did and I assume he's employed by state. It just seems the same to me. Both were said to a semi private group. I know fb is a social network, but the only people
who see it are his friends. Maybe I'm just missing it, but after all the **** our players and fans have had to listen from you guys I just don't see the problem

Scott may be close, but I have serious reservations about him supposedly being faster than Perkins. Also, I don't want perkins as an everydown back either. He's much better in the slot or working in the option. I.E. A scat back, which is what he always has been.

First of all, it doesn't bother me that he said it, I actually like that confidence in players, but you sound stupid by saying Facebook is only meant for his friends and family.

Was Facebook only meant for friends and family of the MSU recruits who talked about going o the strip club on there a few years ago? You know, the ones that Ole Miss fans went nuts about?

You know damn well these ague yes cannot post on Facebook if they only intend for it to be between friends and family

Mullen was actually in his locker room with his players when he said that. In your opinion shouldn't tag have been between his players and him?

that Lamichael James was one split of second faster than Scott because of how Jeff ripped auburn apart. Saying that james is bigger and look one split of a second faster so if Jeff can run all over them we can too. YouTube Jeff Scott vs auburn and it's the first video. Charles Sawyer who is our second faste:5 corner chased down Perkins from behind on that long screen in the egg bowl last year. Sawyer is fast, but is only 5th fastest on our team with Scott and Pendleton fighting it out for first. I'll let you argue that Perkins is better because of his hands or size or whatever, but there's no question who's faster.

You have posters saying I've never heard of the kid and then saying Perkins is faster. You've never seen the kid yet you're going to judge his speed? Your post should be flipped around. "How dare you say a TSUN player has any attribute better than any MSU.... R state!!! Bearklansmen suck!!!! "

since you're so well-versed with YouTube, they have Sawyer tackling Perkins and they're running side by side when Perkins breaks into the open. Sawyer, being in the secondary, reacts to Perkins and begins running towards the MSU endzone before Perkins gets to him. You make it sound like Sawyer gives Perkins a 10 second head start.<div>
</div><div>
</div><div>And there is a difference between 40 yard speed vs. 100 yard speed. Either way, it's still a 70 yard reception.</div><div>

Perkins' speed seems to be really fast in the short burst. He seems to top out quicker than say a top 100 yard dash guy. That's OK with me because in football speed you need short burst much more often than someone that can have another gear after running 50 yards. I am thinking of guys like Carl Lewis that at the 60 yard mark they seem to start pulling away. Perkins does not have that 60 yard pull away gear of Carl Lewis but in the first burst he is really fast. Plus, in that play:

He had run about 60 yards before being tackled

He was carrying a football

The guy that caught him had a slight angle on Perkins who was running slightly toward him to avoid other players and had to adjust his angle.

Is Perkins faster than some guy on Ole Miss's team? Who the freak knows? I don't? I don't pay attention to them that much.
