Scout has him as a 3 star cornerback:

"I had given him a silent commitment before, but I wanted to see some other places," said Jermaine. "I went to some other schools, but I kept coming back to Mississippi State

That's what I like to hear, as it would seem he's less likely to decommit down the road.

Looks like Ole' Yancy strikes out again. Whitehead is a great pickup and I think he could play either corner or safety for us in the future. He is one of the top athletes in the state.

I continue to believe that MFer is going to be an extremely effective recruiter.

six 5 stars and thirty-four 4 stars. We, on the other hand, have offered no 5 stars, thirteen 4 stars, and the rest of our offers are 3 stars and less or unranked. We have 5 commits, one 4, two 3, and 2 unranked.

Completely different approach to recruiting. Ole Miss is going for the scorched earth approach all over the country. We are targeting specific players in the Southeast. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I really think last year was an anomaly. He kind of got caught at the end of the year thinking some things would fall into place and they just didn't. A solid year on the field this year (bowl game) and I think he'll land a top 25 or so class.

He liked Smith a lot and said he did a good job recruiting him. Jermaine also said in his rivals article that he has had multiple family members who attended State.

As for Diaz recruiting, I dont know what area he is in charge of but I havent noticed any articles that have mentioned his name as the key coach recruiting certain players.

i know its just the highlight plays but i thought he looked pretty damn good at QB, RB, and DB. It seemed like every highlight was a 40+ yard run for a touchdown. Also, i thought his arm even looked pretty good in the several plays he threw the ball. I wonder if he would get a look on the offensive side of the ball?

I saw where he was rated the no. 4 safety in the country by one of the services. Would be good to get him for Charles Mitchell's replacement. In the past, Stone has been pretty good for State.

I want to say at some point he stated a goal of trying to get the best players from within a radius of a 5 hour drive? It was something like that I think.

We have a pretty heavy concentration of our recruiting done in Florida and a good bit in Georgia. We somehow have a handful of Michigan kids on our list this year. I don't know where that interest came from. We have a big focus on Mississippi of course but it seems like we have a big emphasis on Florida and Georgia for our out of state recruiting based on the territory assignments.

Most of our recruits still come from a handful of territories out of state along with the in-state guys, and that's been pretty consistent with this staff. The main overlap our staff has with yours is obviously Mississippi. It seems like for the out of state recruiting our two staffs have territory assignments that don't overlap a whole lot, so you're right it is a much different strategy.

one he has always used and Mullen is still perfecting his own strategy. He seemed to get burned down the stretch last year on blue chips so maybe he is changing a bit. Nutt never really signs anyone early. That was kind of nerve wracking at first but I give him the benefit of the doubt since he pulls in some good ones late.
