I question one thing...how can the head coach of the marquee sponsored sport at the school know little about what the federal legislation is?

What is the AD, admin support staff and compliance doing there? Not educating the head coach for sure.

Because it doesn’t matter. By the time it gets explained and understood the legislation will be appealed, repealed, changed, eliminated and laughed at.

I believe the actual series of events will be the House will not come back to vote ahead of midterm election day.
Midterm election outcome will make what the senate passed a lame duck bill. It will not be brought up in the House by 1.3.27 and the new Congress will move on.

So why do you question that one thing, then give the answer above?

Holloway knows what’s important in the bill— the transfer and eligibility rules, as he clearly stated. Those regs will have the biggest impact on his ability to recruit and build a team over more than a single season. Beyond that let’s see what’s actually is in the bill if it passes. I actually think it has a chance of getting thru the lame duck session. A lot of House members outside the NE want this to pass.

What’s unconstitutional about it?

Basically the entire concept of the federal government having any involvement with college sports although they will claim Interstate Commerce.

Outside of that, just off the top of my head:

- Capping NIL spending which in turn caps earnings for players, all without collective bargaining
- Transfer rules
- Agent fees capped
- Limiting conference expansion
- Preventing in-season coaching moves for football only

Some pro leagues have a hard cap. Doesnt the anti trust classification included in the bill handle this?

Of course there will be lawsuits. But they would have to go thru federal courts, not state courts. Much higher bar. And the NCAA will have the imprimatur of legislation that was passed thru the congress of the US and signed by the President making it even harder for the Supreme Court to overturn. So, it will be a long road to reverse it but certainly possible.

This is very encouraging if you speak Sha. Personally, I like the way Sha coaches with the discipline and coaching hard. I think it’s needed. He also has a positive side that he shows them it’s not simply belittling or anything. Is it too hard? Is that why we have such turnover annually and not most money? Idk. I think it’s prob always about the money with these mercenaries now.

Now how we play basketball seems to finally be opening up a bit. I nearly fell over with Sha’s comments about shooting, LOL.

Only one of those things sounds potentially “unconstitutional”?
